Sorry if im missing something but how did u do that math? If biden needs 67k votes to win, how does that translate to 72% of 162k? That's ~42%.

72% of 162k is almost 117k

I know, I was just questioning whether election rules should be like this. :)

This electoral college system seems wrong to me. :oprah:

It is :toofunny: it's an antiquated system designed for when most of the electorate werent educated and slave states wanted more say based on their slave population that couldnt vote.

I think we have GA.

Just eyeballing this chart from a NYT screenshot, the slope of the scissors is getting steep enough in GA that they will cross before we hit 98% (100% is the end of the dashes on the right, and 98% is the end of the solid lines). So unless there’s a lot of red stuff not counted which changes the line’s slope, we have GA. It’s only about 1% at this point.

Biden needs around 230k votes to turn the beat around in PA

He will get them. Still over half a million left (probably closer to 700-800k) and they're going for over 70% Biden. And really blue in Philadelphia which has yet to report a large amount of their mail in votes (total expected votes for Philadelphia that are in are around 70%, the remaining are mail in yet to be counted(

A lot GA's remaining votes are located in Atlanta and are going for the margin we need for a Biden win.

Exactly! So since we only need 67k that means we only need 42%

I definitely agree voter suppression and intimidation is a problem and shouldn't be a thing. I don't believe it made the difference though. I think Dems are to blame for their weak and incompetent strategies.

Like I said, I think they’re both at play here. Biden obviously was not the best candidate. While he most likely will win, it’s still very telling that Trump came close. Democrats in the future need to double down on progressive solutions and politicians. That said, gerrymandering and voter suppression is also a problem, not only for this election, but for elections past. Both are issues that need to be resolved.

Makes sense! My country's first constitution explicitly limited voting to free rich men, but the american system hides better its antidemocratic character.
