Funny how its the republicans who always clamor about the right to fair elections go after any legitimate source of of voting that they can, as well as claim theyre opposed to activist judges  :billie: Then again its understandable when their entire strategy around winning is voter suppression because they know democrats have the upper advantage in numbers.

GOP installing illegal ballot drop-off boxes contesting the limits of a designee law. Meanwhile, they plan to install more and do g*d knows what with the harvested ballots.

https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2020-10-12/voter-drop-boxes-mailers

The law requires voters to designate a person to turn in their ballot, and the designee has to sign the ballot envelope and state his or her relationship to the voter. Padilla’s office said the GOP ran afoul by asking voters to turn in their ballots to a box, not a person. That leaves little accountability if ballots go missing.

TEXAS

...more on drop off box removal

Three Tr*mp appointed judges ruled that the restrictions will remain.

And so Harris County (home of Houston: the third most populous county in the nation and Texas' largest city) will have ONE ballot drop off box for its 4.7 million residents.

Not voter suppression per se, but the right is using Nazi Brown Shirt tactics to suppress campaign rallies. Trump supporters are using violence and threats of violence to cancel Biden rallies in Texas: https://www.thedailybeast.com/biden-camp-cancels-austin-texas-event-after-pro-trump-ambush-on-campaign-bushttps://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-election-2020/us-election-biden-bus-trump-supporters-texas-event-cancelled-b1477876.html

HOW DEEP IT GOES....WHY EVERY VOTE COUNTS

The fact that I only learned about this TODAY...

The fact that people said GOP been planning this sh!t for 40 years...

When they say "Think of voting like a chess move, not a valentine"...

This election has to be an uncontestable blowout. Biden has to win by so such a large margin that it is mathematically and logistically, improbable to near impossible, in the minds of rational people, if not the entire world, that he won fair and square.

WHAT VOTER INTIMIDATION LOOKS LIKE (and what to do)

The ACLU provides a list of examples of voter intimidation. Some examples of voter intimidation include:

*Aggressively questioning voters about their citizenship, criminal record or other qualifications to vote.

*Aggressively questioning voters about their political choices.

*Spreading false information about voter requirements.

*Falsely representing oneself as an election official.

*Physically blocking polling places.

*Displaying false or misleading signs about voter fraud and related criminal penalties.

*Using threatening language in or near a polling place.

*Yelling at people or calling people names while they are in line to vote.

*Disrupting or interrogating voters.

*Looking over people's shoulders while they are voting.

*Photographing or videotaping voters without permission or in a harassing manner.

*Other forms of harassment, particularly harassment targeting non-English speakers and voters of color.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Arizona has similarly listed examples of voter intimidation: “For example, persons attempting to interrupt or intimidate voters by questioning, challenging, photographing or videotaping them at polling places – especially under the guise of uncovering illegal voting – may be violating federal voting rights law.”

Bump This is important enough that people voting tomorrow should read this thread just in case they try to suppress their vote. I know that North Carolina, a key swing state, is under minority rule: More people there vote Democrat than Republican, but the Republicans are in control because of gerrymandering and voter suppression.
