Joe Biden will travel to Georgia on Tuesday, the Democratic presidential nominee’s first campaign trip to a state that hasn’t voted for a Democrat since 1992 but one where polls show a tight race.

Biden plans to travel to Warm Springs and Atlanta, according to his campaign, as Democrats focus on flipping a state that’s been trending in their direction.

President Donald Trump won Georgia by five percentage points in 2016, but Democrats have made inroads in the state, particularly among white, college educated voters. The RealClearPolitics average of state polls has Trump and Biden tied.

Vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris campaigned in Georgia on Friday and Jill Biden is scheduled to visit on Monday.

Oh, gosh. I think this is a good sign because the Biden team has been much more strategic than Hillary’s team was. Maybe there is hope of flipping some Republican strongholds.

Lion Heart

Thats great and all, but what concerns me is the strong voter registration drive that the GOP had in Florida, North Carolina, and Michigan late this summer. They were knocking on doors, and getting new voters, while Democrats were not really doing that. I just hope we can pull this off.

Also if I were in the Biden campaign, I would double the number of rallies and campaign events where ever possible because Trump said he may do up to 5 rallies in the last few days.

Batwings

Georgia is kind of a weird state. The Atlanta metro area which is huge and populous is super blue, but the rural areas in the rest of the state are deep, deep red. Like, as soon as you leave the Atlanta Metro, it's like traveling to another country. My friends who live in Atlanta have already voted by mail because of the stupid long wait times for early voting, and I hope other Democrats in the state have done the same.
