The Equity and Inclusion Enforcement Act authorizes the filing of private civil suits for violations of federal regulations that "prohibit discrimination on the ground of race, color, or national origin in programs or activities receiving federal financial assistance." Republicans proposed an amendment, which mandates that antisemitism be considered as discrimination. That doesn't sound like an idea a socially liberal Democrat would be opposed to, right? Wrong. There were plenty of them who were opposed, 162 to be exact. And of course, AOC was right there with them." No evidence, huh? Try again. I researched and AOC actually voted yes to pass this act. Knowing AOC and how strongly she feels about equality and anti discrimination she probably voted against it because there could of been things in the bill that would make these situations potentially abused or misused especially since it involves law suits. It doesn't mean in principal she was against what it stood for Intent does not always equal results... I personally am not far left (I'm more centre to centre-left on economy) and I disagree with some regulations and tax thresholds the furthest to the left propose but it isn't because I disagree with their intended goal (to create more equality for everyone). I just disagree that some policies will work as intended but that doesn't mean I'm anti more equality if I don't support 80% tax thresholds I don't know the details of these bills but perhaps she voted against them for a simmilar reason. Perhaps there was something about how they were written she felt would do more harm than good. Bills and policies meant to do one thing backfire all the time if not done correctly Knowing AOC I doubt her motivations for voting against the bills were because she didn't wanna fight discrimination

Here's the full roll call voting list: https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2020191 Even if she voted against it, you should look up the reasons why she voted against it. The bill could have some good things like being against anti semitism, but it can also include other things that AOC disagrees with. For example, Trump wants to pass a bill thats anti KKK, but it also wants to label Antifa and BLM as terrorists. If you dont vote for it, you will falsely be accused of being pro white supremacy. Im not American so I dont know how to search things about why AOC did not vote for it. I dont like AOC at all but even I can tell this is false and she has a good reason. Edit: I was right all along, all this is clearly fake news and AOC did nothing wrong.

Republicans wanted to ensure antisemitism was included in the definition of discrimination. How is protecting an oppressed group from discrimination manipulating a bill for political purposes? She did vote for the final bill, but that's because she was in favor of the initial bill before antisemitism came into question. It wasn't a question of whether or not she agreed with the antisemitism inclusion. She had no choice as to whether antisemitism was included, because that provision passed even with her "nay" vote. Voting against a bill she was once in favor of, just because it included antisemitism wouldn't have been a good look for her and she knew it. The fact is, when antisemitism was brought up specifically, she and her antisemite friends all got triggered. They voted specifically for it to not be recognized as an official form of discrimination. And that response from her (even though it's dated March 2019, which is far before she voted on this bill) is even more telling. She never once tries to explain herself or reassure the Jewish community that she supports them (however phony that might be). She just cries "double standard" and runs away like a child. Typical.
