Trump is not a religious man, and he brings up God a lot, he brings up the Bible, he knows the keywords to use because he knows his target. Since day 1, Trump's goal was to win, like a game for him, he has shown up to every debate like it's a boxing match, he has no real plan for the country, what matters is he wins as the most powerful man in the world. Some seem to forget he used to be a democrat in the 80s or 90s, this audio above shows how he's completely aware of how deadly the virus is. He knows it's airborne, therefore he knows face masks can help but he's against is because his target is against is. He mimicks the republicans to a tea because he knows it's thanks to them he can go ahead and be reelected again, it worked the first time... I think his strategy now it's to get the votes of those who don't know who to vote yet, I think it's around 5% of the population. The only way for him to change his stance on this whole coronavirus thing, is to get sick himself. he knows that the argument of "you let 200K americans die from doing nothing" is a strong argument and will not get him reelected from those who are still perplexed as to who to pick. He cannot change his stance on it suddenly though, so the only way to not get his favorite target, the conservative right wing republicans to go against him, is to tell them "listen ive had the virus it was pretty bad trust me", the empathy they have for him, he already knows the plan is working. The only way for democrats to not think it's weird how he suddenly changes his mind and brand it a "cheap way to win voters back" is for him to get sick of it. And he's doing all of this to win. All he wants is to win, he has no plan for the country he just has to win, because he's a winner not a loser as is Trump's black and white viewpoint on life. For most people who have had this experience, it's usually a delayed response where you don't realize you were being abused by a narcissist until some time has passed, because of the way they intentionally groom you. They do it to everyone they cross paths with.
