So FOLKLORE is AARON Dessner's album?? Not Taylor's? 1. Some people are so fixated on Gaga they have no clue her COLLABORATION with BloodPop is neither unique nor unusual. It was TAYLOR who reached out to Aaron because she liked his music. She asked him to send her all the stuff HE's been working on. She TRUSTED him. folklore is sonically cohesive and feels intimate and personal. 2. Chromatica is nothing if not PERSONAL. It's GAGA'S DIARY. Stream of consciousness journaling. How can you say it's BLOODPOP's album??? Gaga and BloodPop are friends. She was very DEPRESSED after the JWT and didn't want to do anything but sit on her porch and cry, He tried to help by coaxing her to make music because, as Bobby said, "FEELING CREATIVE ALWAYS MAKE HER HAPPY." When somebody is in a deep depression, they LOSE INTEREST in things they ONCE enjoyed, like writing music. They feel HOPELESS and HATE themselves. It's like, what's the point? Why bother? The ever-patient BloodPop dragged her off her porch, again, and again, got her out of her funk... That's what FRIENDS are for! Of course she's grateful to him. I'm grateful to him, too! 3. How Aaron Dessner and Taylor Swift Stripped Down Her Sound on ‘Folklore’ (Rolling Stone interview) A longtime and avowed fan of the National, Swift asked if Dessner wanted to try collaborating on a few songs remotely... He noted that he had plenty of material at the ready... She told him to send everything he had. "So I just sent her a FOLDER of things I’d done recently and was excited about." Over the next few months, Dessner and Swift crafted the bulk of Swift’s eighth studio album... "It was a very inspiring, exhilarating COLLABORATIVE process that was almost entirely remote." "I think she really TRUSTED me as far as my instincts to where the music would ultimately go, and also the mixing process. We really wanted to keep her voice as human and kind of the opposite of plastic, as possible. That was a bit of a BATTLE... And she was really trusting and heard it herself." "Towards the end of the process, I said to Taylor, ‘I really feel that I need to try a few EXPERIMENT and try to elevate a few moments on the record because we have time, and we’ve really done a ton of work here, and it all sounds great, but I think we can go even further.’" 'And the same with my brother, he knows my music so well that that was very easy for him to just take things that we were working on... You had eight people working simultaneously... Our process is very COMMUNITY-oriented, and we have long-time collaborators that we have a good understanding with." I think he helped her but still to me it feels like ofc the songs are about Gaga’s life but the whole concept of the album is Bloodpop’s idea and that’s probably why it doesn’t work that much and why Gaga keeps describing it in a very generic way. She couldn’t even follow through with the tribes concept in the 911 MV. Idk, to me it feels a little all over the place, but it’s an ok album and i’m glad Gaga enjoyed making it. The "concept" of the album is that Chromatica is a state of mind, of positivity. That's it. When you listen to the album as a body of work the concept is literally just Gaga's feelings on life, her mental state etc. It's very streamlined. The idea of tribes or whatever else are really not important at all. That stuff is just extra fluff for fans. The Grammy voters are not going to care about the tribes... they care about the music. The Born This Way video is about birthing a new race on GOAT and the mitosis of the future etc etc but do you see any of that in the other videos from that era? You're being too hard on Chromatica, for real for real. It's NOT all over the place. It's actually her MOST cohesive album since The Fame Monster. He literally had to force her to make it. The album is still fun but there’s just not as much passion as her other albums The biggest kii is how confident you are, it’s baffling. OT:What a great read. I always wondered what Fun Tonight was about.
Butters Stotch 5,364
The way she speaks about Fun Tonight melts my heart. It's truly a beautiful song, and I agree, the saddest song in Chromatica, but still so lifting... she really is an incredible artist Also, Sine From Above really needs a video, let's face it. SHE IS THE MOMENT. NOW COME ON, NOW. FIND YOUR FREEDOM IN THE MUSIC

You’re just ranting at this point. None of what you said relates to BloodPop. It’s gagas concept. Everything you’re saying is baseless explanations and accusations tordwards blood pop. Go a head and call it generic or that it doesn’t work. that’s your own (unpopular) opinion, but don’t twist it into saying that’s BloodPop’s doing, it’s GAGA. You don’t like the work she put out, simple as that. You think it’s all over the place? No one cares here, it’s off topic, start your own thread discussing everything horrible about Chromatica Mr Negative Nancy.

julz 6,967
Now i want to see a music video for FT. Even if its not a single. I want to see how Gaga will interpret it, artistically.

Miel 15,009
I love love love her talking about her writing the "interstitial" (very anatomical metaphor, here, whew) Chromatica orchestral interludes. I still think they are the most interesting parts of the album, because we don't get a lot of that kind of work from Gaga! Especially hearing her process in creating it. Even hearing her talk about writing the individual arrangements (here, and on ASIB) is so interesting and new to me. Spoiler On a side note that's definitely me complaining, I loathe the "sticky hook" that they discuss from FT 3 points in and ready for more

Gaga's message is pretty clear. Just forget about him and focus on the article and the amazing interview. I love when she talks about the writing process of her music. It makes me feel more connected to the songs and understands better where she was mentally while writing them. She seems to feel better and it might reflect on her next musical project. I'm so curious to know what she creates next.
