That isn't a safe assumption when many with preexisting conditions in those ages may be vulnerable as well. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/covid-19-deaths-children-young-adults-color-deaths/ We are talking about a virus that is constantly mutating and dangerous enough to kill 200,000 people in 10 months. Why risk anyone? About Musk, he is definitely an example of privilege mixed with narcissistic tendencies who questions humanity while displaying a loss of his own. These are isolated cases, statistically, children are not effected by covid

What's so hard to understand? Yea. Too bad that the entire world isnt on a island at the end of the world. Again, I cant understand the stupidity of "lockdowns works, but they still need hard restrictions 6 months later to continue to work" or "lockdowns dont work in california, because people in south dakota dont wear masks". Ok.

U can look at any available data and you will find out. There is basically no controversy about it. Cases dont mean anything. Take students in US. Almost 50k official cases. Under 5 hospitalizations. Zero deaths. But hey, let's ignore the data and also continue to ignore the negative effects of lockdowns. Yeah let's ignore the data. "Of roughly 3,200 people ages 18 to 34 who were admitted to 419 U.S. hospitals from early April to the end of June, 21 percent, or 684 people, landed in intensive care and 10 percent, or 331 patients, ended up on ventilators. Almost 3 percent, or nearly 90 people, died, researchers report September 9 in JAMA Internal Medicine." "She's an intellectual, your honor"

According to Imperial College London, the lockdowns in Europe prevented 3.1 million deaths. https://www.imperial.ac.uk/news/198074/lockdown-school-closures-europe-have-prevented/ The other reason people keep forgetting is that we don't want to overload hospitals which could lead to other deaths. I understand we are trying to avoid a global depression. I respect that these are difficult decisions for any society to undergo. You're at more risk of death if you have certain conditions but doesn't mean ur not going to die either. A lot of 90 year olds fought the virus very well, while a child cannot take it. So since this virus is brand new and we don't know very well how it behaves, we can't have 100% trust that this would protect the whole population. And people who are at risk, lets say his name is Bob, 45 is obese and has diabetes, married 2 kids, he's going to quarantine in his house with his family, his family will go out and about and come home, it's the same thing if Bob goes out too, since if his wife catches the virus he also gets the virus. So are we supposed to expect that Bob should quarantine in a hotel room? What if Bob has low wage and can't afford to quarantine for 7 months in a hotel room? What do we do then? Do we put bob locked up in his bedroom for months? 1 hour ago, 777777777777777777 said: Everybody dies,' Musk said Doesn't mean you shouldn't try your hardest to save lives. I don't understand where he finds the irrationality in people wearing masks which has been proven to avoid droplets in the air when a person talks or sneezes or coughs, as we know the virus is airborne. I don't see the irrationality in asking people to wash their hands and disenfect it as we know we touch our faces with our hands a lot and the virus gets in your system via mouth, nose, ears, even eyes. The logical thing to ask would even be for everyone to wear glasses, but I guess that'd be seen as even more 'crazy' for some people.

We locked down here in the US (sorta, barely tbh) and still have over 200,000 dead what the f*ck.... We have 1 million deaths worldwide because of this virus but I guess 'everyone dies' therefore it doesn't matter. We should maybe just transmit the virus between each other and if your grandmother dies, she dies, i your 90 year old neighbor dies, he dies. If your colleague with asthma dies, well he dies! Right? Isnt that the LOGICAL thing to do? Can''t believe humanity is so "irrational" into not believing in that!!!! Elon Musk Logic but many others

How many people 18 to 34 died at the same time of non covid issues? I'm gonna tell u. More than 90. How many of these 90 people had hard comorbidites? All of them? As I've told u.from almost 50k students in US, under 5 were hospitalized. None died.

Your evidence is basically just an act of mathematical imagination and ignores all the countries who didnt lockdowned or the costs of lockdowns. I understand your point about hospitals. That's why I understood the lockdowns at the beginning, but I dont know if there is any country on Earth who doesnt control it at the moment from this point of view.
