I agree, Gaga didn't grow up poor, but what's your source on Glenn Close and Gaga being close friends before Gaga was famous?

Cus Glenn herself says she met Cynthia at the Bring Change to Mind Gala, which is an event that only started in 2012.
 

And also, Joe only gave Gaga a year to prove herself as a musician--and she had little financial support during that time, which is why she had to waitress and do bar gigs and strip.

It was just a really vague concept, not necessarily indicating what the final album would sound like, especially since it was released a long time after she said that. But she talking about finding the skeleton of her past of something, and interestingly I always interpreted it as going back to the music she was making before she was famous.

I don't know if she totally scrapped it, album concepts can evolve a lot and I think she just slowly went in that direction, rather than deciding to radically change it. Maybe she didn't keep many songs she had written in the beginning, but she needed to write these songs once she was sure of the direction she was taking. The rest was just part of the journey to get there.

I feel like it was just a way of shutting the story out quickly and she assumed Madonna, as an intelligent woman, was on the same page as her. She later found out it wasn't the case. Gaga is passionate about her work, I don't blame her for trying to protect it any way she could.

It’s so baffling. There are literally photos of her going to the Epione clinic (and leaving she usually covers her face probably due to swelling redness), and the guy who oversees her cosmetic procedures literally brags about it on Instagram all the time/uses her face as an advertisement of his services

personally i love the sexy Hollywood starlet fantasy, if I was in her position I would probably get more done than she has

 I think she changed the direction because of Trump and she realized she could unite people and have a positive impact during this troubled times. That's  why she incarnated this "classic christian girl next door in white t-shirt from the deep country who listens to americana". She made something less eccentric than planified in order to speak to another audience, as a reminder of what America is, and that American symbols belongs to all of them. She not only wanted to heal her father, she wanted to heal America.
 

I can't find the interview but she said something like: " When I wrote this album I thought about this american girl in white t-shirt in the back of the room at my concerts, maybe she had a bad day, maybe she is a mother, nobody knows about her life and I wrote "Joanne" thinking about this girl, and this girl could be me". Joanne is a metaphor for all forgotten americans.

That's the lie in which I believe, a new one 

People paraphrased her and changed her words about the "art of darkness". She NEVER said that Joanne would look or sound dark
