Im sorry you cannot see that fact. i think the point would be better driven with something like this: there are 3 choices for liberals, but only one of the first two will win: 1: the strong potential for an imperfect democracy to collapse, and the certitude that life will become worse in the same way, if not worse, than it has in the last four years. 2: the imperfect democracy remains intact; the strong potential that some small improvements will be made to the democracy, and to life within that democracy, but there will still be much to do afterward. 3: stand up for one's ideals, that even a little progress is not worth laying ideals down for; the country must make bounding strides to perfection, not incremental steps, even if that means risking huge regressions or the end of the republic.
