They haven't charged a single officer with anything in connection to Breonna's death.

They think they're going to get away with this.

Murder, it's murder nothing else. Until they get to the word murder then there'd be progress

Only sometimes? :awkney:

Well the times they are not and officers that are not are not gonna go viral or get any attention.

To have accurate perspective on an issue u can't only analyze and form an opinion based on the bad stuff that makes it to the news and then say it's always. Social media can ruin perspectives that way

The many cops that just do their job properly and without being problematic are not gonna get 10M hits on YouTube because there's nothing to see. A normal interaction with a cop is probably not even going to be recorded in the first place nevermind uploaded on YouTube. Your ONLY going to see the worst of the worst

Clearly there's a big issue with police brutality and profiling but at the same time I think "ACAB" or that "Police are always terrorists" I'd partially being fueled by the perception viral media installs that these worst instances that happen are the casual norm.

They obviously aren't the norm or the typical occurances, people deal with police on a daily basis, it's not often that u know someone personally that got murdered or seriously abused by a cop

That's not to say the system isn't corrupt tho

What is the charge?????? Really hoping they're getting him on plain murder.

edit: it's wanton endangerment. this ain't justice.

How the F*CK is firing a full round of ammo into an innocent, unarmed person's body "endangerment"?!?!

The police system is are like the military. If there's any perceived danger with barely any proof they justify their actions that there was a potential threat and then get off the hook.

Many don't even bother to try and assess the situation first properly, they instantly get agressive already making the assumption they are gonna have a threat to deal with and then their premature agression creates the situation in the first place:toofunny:

I want to assess it because we don't have to put up with this.

It doesn't have to be this way. It's so frustrating. We need to elect people who will change these awful laws.

I didn't mean u or us assessing it... I meant the cops. They often don't assess situations properly first, they just assume or jump to the conclusion there is a threat too quicky when often there is none and they are the ones that trigger a bad response in the first place by getting agressive so quickly

Instead of de-escalating they often do the exact opposite

Cops doing their jobs “properly” IS the issue.

Fair enough point your right. The status quo of how to do things is problematic and cops that do everything by the book will be problematic to some degree or another.

But to be outright comparing it to terrorism I have to assume the user meant murders and severe abuse, like the ones on a severity level that have surfaced on social media. And the user replied implying that it's always the case. I just found that to be an unfair exageration because these cases are not some norm. They are the absolute worst highlights of a small fraction of cases and the vast majority of cops that never engage in such dispicable behaviour shouldn't be attached to those instances like they are terrorists themselves

I've never liked the idea of fighting a real legitimate issue by exxagerating a truth and sensationalizing it in the hopes that that will therefore give the issue extra attention and then looking down on ppl who try to put it into perspective because when u do that the progressives aren't being fully truthful in their fights and debates either.

Stuff like that doesn't win just causes any favours for the simple fact that the very people that don't take justice issues seriously enough know exactly what progressives are doing when they do that. It's stuff like that that centrists and conservatives pick up on and tear apart on the media to make the left loom stupid and then not take progressives seriously. In the end it ends up hindering progress on a cause instead of helping it.

We should just tell the truth as it is. There's no need to add to it because the facts already speak to themselves. The moment u use wording to try and amplify something a few notches suddenly it discredits your point to the people who need to take it more seriously to begin with.

Police do bad sh*t all the time. It's not an exception, it's the rule.

Black people in NY had "normal interactions" with police with policies like stop and frisk. Those are not proper or just interactions, but they were the common ones.

ACAB means that she system that police enforce is a racist and white supremacist one. And anyone who enforces such a system is a bast*rd.

Police murder like 1,000 people every year in this country, so it's pretty normal and daily, actually.

And that's all extremely problematic and the system needs a serious overhaul and I'm not saying otherwise and I support most changes ppl are pushing for

I'm simply saying that ppl use language that makes it sound like cops going around murdering ppl and what ur seeing on social media is the norm. There are like 340M ppl in the US that's many millions of cop interactions per year.

If the cases that get attention on social media were the norm or how a typical cop reacts, half the population would get killed in a year by a cop (or at the very least the most racially profiled groups)

These highlighted cases do shine a light on a deeper fundamental problem than just the cases themselves. But ppls language on how they describe those cases and then cops in general ud think cops as a gener rule have a habit of going around killing ppl for no reason (or trivial reasons). It's not quite like that
