RenegAde 18,431
So the video for 911 is probably toping the list for gagas post-ARTPOP videos . Even though is has wig snatching qualities like; - the amazing cinematography/visuals -commendable use of cultural and movie references - amazing wardrobe, epic hair and make up - perfect casting and use of props and its all round uniqueness and artistic quality . if we are being honest, those qualities are usual for gaga . What sets 911 apart is something different . To me the best thing about 911 is the technique used in the story telling . I love that the reverse chronology technique was employed ( where the story is told backwards and unravels in itself ) In 911 we are taken through this maze of confusing images and patterns . The first 3 minutes of the video seem like an endless labyrinth, like a loop , you almost miss all the interesting references and amazing visuals because you are so caught up with trying to wrap your mind around the plot . What is actually amazing is how the confusion is literally cleared up within seconds . You are almost caught off gaurd by how everything makes sense from not making sense in just an instance . With the climax of the video being The final accident scene, it is one of the most detailed scenes iv seen in a music video. it literally explains the gist of such video so accurately and vividly that viewers literally are left with no questions to ask. It such an amazing piece work , gaga and her team hit it out of the park with this one .
tomsches 17,330
It's still chronological though. It's just that at the end you find out what actually happened.
Lucas 25,051
I absolutely love Applause and G.U.Y but yeah the amount of details put into 911 makes me believe it's her best music video post Born This Way, it's a tie for me I guess between those 3 videos
KORG 4,756
The lack of group dance number makes it instantly better than most of her videos. Dancing is for dancers, for basic popstars, with Gaga we want the theatre. She gave us an emotion, a thought, a feeling, and you dont get that with heavy choreography. She gave us theatre ,emotion ,thought and feeling with marry the night , alejandro, you and i etc some song needs choreo and others dont . I dont see what choreo or lack of has to do with anything.
