The era that almost made me unstan:diane: the album was directionless and messy, the interviews were just miserable. As a fan it was sad to see Gaga without any drive or ambition - she was clearly at her lowest point during this era, and it sucked all the creativity and personality out of her. This was reflected in the "just rolled out of bed" looks and abysmal videos (MR Video has to be the single lowest point in her artistic career).

I'm still sad things like the Superbowl and Coachella had to happen during this watered down mush of an era. Just think how much more incredible they could have been if they happened at any other point in her career.

On the plus side, it's made me appreciate Chromatica so much more. We got so used to Gaga being 11/10 every era, we needed a bad era to out into perspective how above and beyond she usually goes compared to her peers.

I had lost some interest in Gaga during the ARTPOP and C2C eras, and I remember I hated Perfect Illusion and the new direction and decided I was giving up on her entirely. But then Million Reasons happened and I was hooked on this new side of her. It really made her a more interesting artist even if it was kinda hard to adjust. This is my least favorite album of hers but interestingly enough it’s what slowly got me back into stanning her again.

I'm guessing your stan card was valid sometime between The Fame and BTW then 🤔

I became a stan during The Fame era and I lost some interest towards the end of the BTW era. For no particular reason, I just became interested in other artists and I just followed her as a more casual fan from ARTPOP to C2C. Then I regained more interest during the Joanne era and went fully back to stanning with ASIB.

This era is one of the best just because Perfect Illusion and Angel Down alone, but let’s add Sinners Prayer, Diamond Heart, John Wayne, the Dive Bar, the Joanne tour, the Super Bowl...

This was so different from her old stuff, that was refreshening and made me love her so much. What artist dares to change that much? I mean, this is the same that released Bad Romance and Born This way.

I know little hatesters would love her just to keep releasing pop songs a la Ava Max or Katy Perry, but she is so much more than that. 2014-2019 prove that.
