I can’t copy paste the nitty gritty of the article, but it’s a good read.

Coronavirus is virtually nonexistent here, and it’s because we’ve consistently followed the guidelines. The fact that a state with as high a population as New York combined with the fact it’s in the United States, which, overall, is paling in comparison to the pandemic response of other countries, is really impressive

Not only that, but going from one of the hardest hit places initially (which is to be expected. I mean...it’s New York, lol. Massive population) to having this much success is unprecedented

And to think in comparison Melbourne, Australia has gone down to fewer than 50 cases per day and it’s still in stage 4 lockdown, despite the population being close to 5 million.

Many think it is, others feel it’s overkill as they plan on keeping this for the next few weeks and very slowly revert to stage 3 or 2 if cases go down to 5 cases or less which isn’t fairing well with the economy and people’s mental health there. I mean some say better safe than sorry but I think at this point they could bring it already down to stage 3 or even 2 and just keep testing and monitoring people. In comparison in Sydney we currently have single digits on most days but haven’t experienced a stage 4 lockdown so far. In Melbourne there were issues with hotel quarantine and as a result they failed at tracking properly and mystery cases started popping up and spreading . At the peak they counted over 800+ daily cases but that has gone below 100 since last week.

That's great to hear. We all should learn from NY and follow guidelines. Lockdown can't go on forever like this everywhere.

Wish it spoke a little more about the large amount of NY that isn't the Hudson Valley/city/LI.

I wish the same, but unfortunately the rest of NY may as well not exist in the media lol. I've met people who have no idea that New York is a whole state and not just Manhattan, and I don't blame them! You'd think upstate NY doesn't exist if you don't live there or know someone who does lol

I'm from LI and I can't tell you how many people I've met not from around here that have no idea what or where LI is lmao. Like you said, they just think New York is the city and that's it.
