I'll never get over that Kevin Parker only worked on 1 song. We could've gotten such an amazing acid-trip style album but we got Million Reasons insteadΒ

But we also have to consider that it was one of the many moves in a series of long planned career reinvention efforts by her and her team. It was important to keep the songs accessible. Pop rock and alt rock has a pretty niche audience while country and folk is pretty broad. To do better numbers in US for her career, IMO, Joanne is a perfect album. She also wanted to show her softer, more personal side. A full rock album wouldn't have allowed it as much as the Joanne that we got did.

I don't know if it's Tame Impala's vocals but his rendition sounds a bit lacking energy to me? Gaga's is fire.

It's also supposed to embody a different vibe. It's more of a melancholic and mourning(Impala's version) vs indignation and rage (LG's version) thing.Β

The demo version but with Gagas vocals, the production is much better and less generic sounding
