Personally, I loved it, especially the Stupid Love part. Billboard Awards are coming, and I hope she's made a lot of beautiful things for the Chromatica Ball. Askip wasn’t expecting to read this expression here any time soon I also think the VMA performance was underwhelming. There could have been so much more visual effects to really take us to Chromatica, more props, better outfits (they weren’t that bad though), and sometimes the vocals weren’t that good (especially during Stupid Love on piano). I tried not to expect anything from the performance but I really thought it would be more spectacular, that she’d use more of virtual reality and green screens. I thought Doja Cat performance was visually more Chromatica-esque... If we have CTV one day, I hope the experience will be more captivating. I can’t stop thinking of what Björk made for the visuals of her last album, this is just otherworldly, ethereal, cosmic and non-human. It’s impeccable. I think so far we lacked of consistency in this era, the concept is very underwhelming so far, despite the album being great, which is the most important of course. Thank you atleast reading the entire thing unlike some users here Yeah production could have been better agree. A lot of logistical challenges with the VMAs I imagine. For that reason I think the performance was solid all things considered.
Glamourpuss 29,062
I can kind of see what you mean. Some parts of the show particularly the dancing seemed rushed like it wasn't rehearsed down to the second like a professional performance usually would be like 'The Fame Factory' performance for example. But we have to give credit where it's due and realise that she still worked hard on this considering we're still in the middle of a pandemic and she's had a lot of time off this year so isn't at her best physically and vocally. We saw her ice bath and bruise photos so we know she still put the work in. I think the blame mostly lies with MTV because of how they edited it as it seemed like several performances spliced together at some parts. But when you think about that it makes you realise that she possibly performed for hours that day to get the end result as perfect as possible. I don't think it was the best she's done but it was far from bad.

starsdontlipsing 53
Certain elements of the Enigma show could certainly fall under the category of rushed in terms of the storyline, but her ability to put on a show made up for it. Same with the VMAs.

Evan Peters 10,738
i am so stunned at how quick this site switched up on this performance. the day of everyone was losing their minds and then within the next week, there's 10 threads a day discussing that the performance was lackluster. emma roberts is an abuser
MelbHawker 6,583
I lived for the performance - it was so energetic & celebratory of the music. Ive watched so many times now.. the lighting during ROM was completely off & although the piano arrangement of Stupid Love was genius.. vocals weren’t up to her usual flawless standard. Not she cares. She ATE.

starsdontlipsing 53
I do think this was the best live TV performance this year though. A lot of challenges right now, shout out to Gaga for still coming through to bring us all some joy in these times.

lilmonster2424 1,705
Are we watching the same performance? I have watched it multiple times every day and watched it with many of my friends and we've been shook every time... the only part I thought could have been better was Rain On Me. I just wished they sang the last chorus and the choreography at the end was a little more on point and they had some cool lighting or effect or something. But it was still amazing and the performance as a whole blew me away.
