For me it was Rise that marked her decline both in popularity and artistry. I think NRO is the only song she’s released since then that I thoroughly enjoy.

omg @Franch Toast you saw this in person???? :air:

Her whole mannerism in Witness is very weird and confusing, like I don't know how did she gone from Prism to that. I think she's just doing what she thinks experimental for the sake of being experimental, not necessarily for her artistry whatsoever. It's very weird to witness :ohwell:

The downfall started the morning after the GP woke up and realised Applause was a million times better than Roar :trollga:

i dont think so. i think legendary lovers could be the next hit from the album. it doesnt give me any similar vibes to dark horse, but if there's any to her other songs it does have some similar vibes with E.T. (and E.T. was one of the highlights from teenage dream).

Both songs transmit an ancient vibe.

I personally don’t see it and think it’s just a fan favourite. Its accompanying visuals would have performed very well on YouTube, that I can see, but not the radio hit and charting success with long legs.

Love Me, Double Rainbow, and maybe International Smile, now those sound like radio hits, to me.

We’re declaring differing opinions and I know I could very well be super off with mine, there’s no way to know for sure, especially now, just saying what I think. I appreciate your thinking.

Weird how a song with a billion views on YouTube started her decline.

There's something really fishy with her youtube streams. I remember it was one day when Bon Appetit's views started to rise a lot for no reason, like 2 years after it got released.

It's the hair guys. It's the hair. And I truly mean it.

She went from KP to average blonde popstar. That's it. The GO don't recognize her cause her sound changed (she left Like behind) and also her image.

I agree that Rise was the beginning of the end of Katy, but that song came pretty late into her career actually her imperial phase lasted a very long time.

Not the bore worms!

Yeah, that's what I saw back then in 2014, it was the beginning of her slow but constant decline:

I disagree, this was already into her stream of underperforming songs, she never grabbed a hit from the Prism era after Dark Horse and CTTR from witness only grabbed the top 10 for a week or two. Bon Appetit was her best single in years for me :deadbanana:

it was her hair. she should've never gone blonde and never cut it

Luckily that wasn't the only factor cause that would be so so sad and cruel. Being talented and dedicated, making music and it being succesful, to be at the worlds top, sell out concerts,.... all wiped away because of a bad hair cut? That's just too superficial.
