COOOK 76,406
To this day, ARTPOP is still talked about, still being judged, still having mixed opinions, still generating heated arguments about its performance, single choices, and scrapped tracks and concepts. Not only among different fanbases, but it's the album that critics love to hate whenever they reference (or not reference) it as the pivotal moment in Gaga's career that it is. It was recently released again sans track no.7 (but we won't talk about that), and UO just released an exclusive vinyl. Wether you like it or not, ARTPOP remains a topic of discussion and an enigma of its own, really proving to be the album of the millennium but probably for the reasons we were never expecting back in 2013... But most importantly, it's still very much loved. Now stream and rejoice, Little Monsters!

androiduser 7,438
the only place where ARTPOP is discussed is this forum and some other fan forums where it's being made fun of. It isn't the album of anything, let alone the album of the millenium. It's not important by any standard, other than being the only major flop of Gaga's career. Fans need to get over it and move on, instead of blaming the whole world for it.

ArtpopAct2 2,672
PERIOD. Its still such a passionate topic, and we still find out new things about it all the time. theres no era like it. It’s always going to be a quintessential part of examining Gaga’s career. best part is it’s called a flop without even being one. Number 1 album with top 5 longevity smash did that! Other girls wish to have an era like that

Not that this forum can't be objective, it's just the unnecessarily harsh descriptions of this comment are never further from the truth. It's a celebrated album amongst the music community and is remembered fondly by many pop music fans, and there have been critics and YouTubers revisiting this album and reviewed it favourably. It's lauded as an ambitious project that you don't find many young artists attempting nowadays. It's also hardly a flop. It sold millions of copies and spawned platinum-certified singles as well as a lucrative 79-date tour.

imitalian 3,163
Its also used as a benchmark for every new flop release: “oh no shes having her ARTPOP era” so yeah the impact is undeniable! Also the only reason its considered a flop is because her previous eras were just so stellar. She set the bar too high for herself and it came a point were it was cool hating on Gaga

I think that album is something special for many LGBTI+ people born between 1985-2000. Many people might not care for it but many people don't care for Cher either. Can we say Cher is the best thing ever? No, but we also can't say she's all forgotten. ARTPOP will remain special for a generation just as well. Not only for the music and art but for controversies and the impact it made on Gaga, a person that is only comparable to likes of Madonna and Judy Garland (and I don't claim she's Queen of Pop by saying that, I'm just saying I know gays will always be here for her and will always play ARTPOP during kikis). Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?

GagaEnigma 1,474
Gurl I adore this literal piece of art, which ARTPOP is, but let's not exaggerate It's not really that talked about anymore, other than among the fan circles, and besides, BTW is much better
