ApplauseftAdele 4,730
First of all I’m 19 so I have a good idea of what the general mood of my age group is. Right now a lot of people strongly dislike Rain On Me, they think it’s generic H&M music kinda like how our fanbase hates Shape of You. You guys need to realize popular music nowadays sounds NOTHING like rain on me. Like the biggest songs of summer last year were Bad Guy, Old Town Road, Sunflower, etc. So Why 911? 1. It’s weird and that’s what we need. To get people talking about Gaga again, she needs to release a weird single. Remember all the hate she got for Bad Romance? She could’ve released Telephone as the lead, but no. This is the same case. Do we REALLY want people to remember this Gaga era for free woman? Instead of 911?? Even if 911 doesn’t hit #1 on the hot 100, which it won’t, 911 as a song has the most potential for Gaga to serve us something weird And get people talking, instead of people thinking she releases 3 “generic” pop songs in a row. 2. The sound. As I said previously, lots of popular songs these days sound nothing like the generic pop sound. 911 has that weirdness that some people will hate but this generation of teens will LOVE. Lots of robotic sounds are popular right now, for example 100gecs who literally sound like distorted robots. If anything, the weirdness of how it sounds will interest people more than anything, and when people talk about it, it creates more listens. 3. The Chromatica II transition has so much potential to become an iconic moment for this era. Like it’s literally too iconic. It’s already a thing on tiktok but it could lowkey become like an iconic meme like Gangnam style Also I lowkey feel like Bobby has seen one of my many threads asking 911 to be the next single and I convinced Ha #DayOne911Advocate Anyways, 911 stans won tonight
lilmonster2424 1,720
Honestly I agree. People would not be into Free Woman after calling Stupid Love and ROM basic H&M music, I think 911 is a great choice and then do Replay next.

Defmix100 6,364
I agree, 911 was one of my least favourites on the album but now I think it could have the coolest video and ticks the boxes you mentioned. I could also see Babylon being a single and that sounds unique too in 2020 but 911 has more of a punch
tomsches 17,392
It's not weird at all. What's weird about it? It's a pop song. She didn't get hate for Bad Romance at all. Everybody loved it.
xoxo Craig 55,649
No, I don't think its a great choice at all. It doesn't hit as hard as Rain On Me or Stupid Love. The chorus is underwhelming compared to the rest of the track. While visuals might be good for 911, I can't see people liking it as much as Rain On Me or Stupid Love, both of which went top 5 with the former reaching number one End Racism Now
Juanlittlem 45,543
I'm totally here for it. After watching that performance and those dance moves I really want it to have a music video. Estàvem al cel, ara estem a l'infern
LordByron28 1,059
I think 911 has high potential for a viral moment with her music video. The subject matter lends itself well to opening up interesting themes, visuals and music video concepts. The VMA performance sold me more on the idea than before. I thought it was a bit too generic when I first heard it but I do see potential and the lyrics are really good.

REALITY 76,270
I agree that the next single should be something less "commercial." SL and ROM are incredibly commercial-y sounding songs. That's not necessarily a bad thing though because those songs are great in their own right. However, I do agree that because of that, they can be polarizing. On social media you see as much hate as you do love for songs like ROM, and while social media isn't necessarily the best way of seeing people's reactions, you have to admit that it does give you an indication of what people are thinking. Personally, I would've gone with something like Replay or Babylon. I feel like Babylon's iconic "Strut it out, walk a mile, serve it ancient city style" and Replay's breakdown work better to not only appeal to the GP, but still be weird and "Gaga" enough for fans. 911 isn't a bad choice, but I just don't know how people will react to it. It already seems like a polarizing song from the reactions I've seen on YouTube. Again, that's not necessarily the best way of gauging people's reactions, but from what I've seen, people are either really into it or they really just aren't vibing with it. We'll just have to wait and see how it goes though. I will say, I do think 911 has incredible potential for a music video. My only worry is that it'll just basically be a choreo-only video like ROM and SL. While I do think ROM was executed much better than SL, I honestly still would've preferred more story-based elements in the MV. 911 could do that if they choose to do so. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
socotra 3,310
THANK YOU!!! Nobody my age (I'm 20) listens to this kinda music. It's pure rap, and when it is pop-esque music, it's Billie Eilish/Dua/The Weeknd/Lorde. The ROM-style pop has fallen completely by the wayside. (And this fanbase/site REALLY does not understand the dynamics of the 2020 charts given how badly people want Free Woman or Alice; FW would be a GUY-level flop, and while Alice might do a bit better, it's nowhere near 911's chart potential) But 911 has consistently been the song my friends do like (not even as Gaga fans). Most of my buddies are straight rapheads who tend to like more experimental pop, and 911 is the only song that's done well with them. The way the lyrics ride the beat in 911 also has a rhythm that I think appeals to a lot of people. At the same time, it sounds a lot like her original TF electropop sound. It's the only track on this album I can see becoming an organic hit. I don't think it'll debut well (maybe Top 50 if we're lucky) but with promotion and good playlisting, I can totally see it working its way into the Top 20, if not Top 10, over the next few months. It'd be a slow burn a la Watermelon Sugar/Adore You, probably peaking sometime in December.

buzzkill 5,152
I’d prefer 911 than Free basic Woman (dont get me wrong i like it, but it’s just too basic) and guys she already had the #1 for this era, let’s just hope for a great visual.
