On this day in 2019, Lana Del Rey released her sixth official studio album NFR!.

An alternative pop album, the album is also influenced by psychedelic pop, pop balladry, surf rock and folk, even dabbing into experimental music territory with 9 minutes-long Venice Bitch.

Stylistically, the album cover draws inspiration from the LA fires and the idea of being lost at sea (hence the maritime imagery).

The album was supported by 6 singles, including the lead singles Mariners Apartment Complex and Venice Bitch, the last minute addition Doin' Time and the post-album single Norman ****ing Rockwell.

After its release, the album became Lana's highest rated album on metacritic and one of the most appreciated music releases of 2019. Despite its messy and confusing release roll out, it was also well-liked by the majority of her fans.

What is your opinion on this album? What are your favorite (or least favorite) songs from it and how did they stand the test of time? On a related note, can you believe it's been an entire year (:fatcat:)?

One of the best albums I've ever heard, and I'm not kidding. It really helped me during a difficult time in my life.

My favourites are Norman F Rockwell, Mariners Apartment Complex, Happiness is a Butterfly, Cinnamon Girl and The Greatest, but all its tracks are gold.

I will just say that I am glad to be alive in this period of time to be able to listen to this album. „The Greatest” still gives me shivers. „Cinnamon girl” is highlight in her career. Forever love for this masterpiece. :sara:

Good album but I’ve had a hard time getting into it with the exception of some songs that i instantly liked. My favorite from Lana besides Born to Die and Paradise is Honeymoon
