The lyric change to “I killed my former and” instead goes more thematically since the song is about her identity and saying do you wanna see the real me? so it’s her saying she killed her old identity to become Lady Gaga which is something she’s spoken about a lot before and since. However I don’t think the GP would of been into the verses though. We love ‘em but don’t think (at the time) those slow singing/talking kinda dark drummy(is that even a word?) verses would of turned a lot of people away. ARTPOP Singles should of been: Aura (Buzz single and theme song for Machete Kills with music video ) Applause (Official Lead) DWYW Venus GUY (?) Gypsy (short radio edit) battle for your life. PARTYNAUSEOUS is a tragic cut as it slays and would've been very forward thinking. It stinks that Kendrick Lamar backed out of that. However subsequent artrave performances showed it could still have a heavy electronic and rock theme to it. I have to be honest and say that I felt J&D and Donatella needed to be cut. Swine, Gypsy and Sexxx Dreams needed better productions as the initial live performances of these slayed so much more. Their studio versions were underwhelming in comparison.
