We haven’t gotten more than 2 proper singles per album in 8 years. Why?

Chile, GONE are the days when we would get 3-5 proper singles from a Gaga album. The last album that gave us that was Born This Way.

ARTPOP:   
- Applause    
- DWUW (hard to consider a single w/out proper video)   
- GUY (Great Video, but questionable to even consider a single)

Joanne:    
- Perfect Illusion    
- Million Reasons    
- Joanne (doesn’t really count )

Chromatica:    
- Stupid Love    
- Rain On Me    
- ????

So is 2 singles per album the new norm that we have to accept as a Gaga fan? What is this 3rd single curse that’s been brought upon us? Is Chromatica joining the 2 single club or is it too early to tell?

Well ARTPOP was supposed to have many singles but we know how that turned out 

Joanne well, the public wasn't really feeling it radio wise. The Super Bowl gave MR a boost but there wasn't much else to push for radio. That's why she released The Cure instead of a 3rd single.

And Chromatica... we're not done yet

It's honestly because of creative and corporate clashing. 

I think this will definitely change with Chromatica. There are a few songs that could be great singles. And she seems very clear, comfortable, and confident with her choices now.

ARTPOP era had many promo singles, at least there's that! Kind of crazy that it's consider her flop era with 2 top ten singles, 3 top twenties, and 4 top forties. Joanne and Chromatica wish.

Born This Way did not have proper singles. Judas was rush released and then immediately scrapped.

Edge of Boring and You & Why could be considered proper singles, even though one had the original video concept thrown away and the other one was a 2 year old song.
