Pelosi endorses Joe Kennedy, proving Dems hypocrisy w/ primary challenegers

After Pelosi announced Thursday that she would endorse Kennedy over incumbent Senator Edward J. Markey, a number of progressives took to Twitter to denounce the move on the grounds that the Democratic Party establishment has effectively blacklisted other candidates and organizations for doing the very thing Kennedy is doing: Mounting a primary challenge against an incumbent Democrat.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee implemented a policy last year meant to protect House incumbents by cutting ties with polling organizations and consultants that work with candidates who mount primary challenges against sitting Democrats, even in districts considered “safe.”

New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter to suggest Pelosi’s endorsement should render the DCCC policy irrelevant.

For those who aren't aware, the DCCC has a blacklisting policy where they blacklist any and all organizations, consultants, etc. who help candidates who are primary challenegers to Democratic incumbents.

However, Democratic leadership are HUGE hypocrites and apparently have no problem breaking that rule and supporting or backing primary challenegers against Democratic incumbents when those challengers are fellow corporatists and raise huge sums of money. Case in point, the primary challenger against Ilhan Omar and now Joe Kennedy.

Turns out that just like how this backfired after Hillary Clinton endorsed Elliot Engel and Jamaal Bowman received an influx of donations after and ultimately won handily, this looks to be backfiring for Pelosi too with Kennedy

Agreed. The only thing Pelosi (and Chuck Schumer) likes is money, specifically donor money. If you can fundraise each sums of money from Wall Street, Big Oil and the like, they're your best friend and will forgot about all their rules to throw in their endorsement!

She deserves to lose her speakership, so does Schumer his leadership position.

Also Alex Morse is running to unseat a 30(?) year incumbent Richard Neal. A few weeks ago the Massachusetts College Democrats/ Neal  tried to smear him by attacking his gay sex-life by making it seem like he was some sort of predator. Support Alex Morse:

Progressives have been acting shocked for almost 10 years over actions of Corporate Democrats. Its time to take action instead of allowing Corporate Democrats to use Trump to threaten progressives. Trump won over neocons by aggressively attacking them and changed the party which is something progressives, AOC, and Bernie are not capable of doing.

Yea I saw this story. Pretty pathetic how dirty establishment Democrats play. And then people have the audacity to ask how people are fed up with or compare the Democratic Party to the Republicans when their leadership and elites can be just as insufferable, horrible, and guilty.

Although I mostly agree with you, especially that the left needs to get more aggressive, I don't think it's fair to compare because the left is constantly gaslighted and pummel drived across most if not all domains in US society, and much of global society too.

The right is basically always given a free pass, and has countless voices and representation across all media in the US. You can also find neoliberals and neoconservatives nearly everywhere, especially among TV pundits.

But the left is almost never given this same access or representation though, and there are rarely progressive voices on US media. It's really only because of the Internet and social media imo that we've been able to get to see and listen to more voices from the left since the gatekeepers don't have as much control over access to media as before.

That said, the left and progressive voices more broadly need to do more about getting more aggressive in it's strategy and messaging. Especially now since it's hasn't really had this type of an opportunity in awhile.

Another interesting angle of this story is the fact that Ed Markey sponsored the Green New Deal bill in the Senate.

We all know how Nancy Pelosi feels about the "green dream or whatever".

We also know Pelosi is not against taking corporate donations from Big Oil and the fossil fuel industry.

As a plus, the DNC just recently got rid of the no fossil fuel subsidies in the party platform.

And then people wonder why the Democratic Party is considered the other side of the same coin 

The Democratic Party is all about symbolism and representation, but not any actual substance because their leadership is bought and paid for by Corporate USA just like the Republicans (although not to the same degree).
