Can you post any links to the interscope page?
sillynate 6,170
Idk about singles but what I think would’ve really had an impact on the timeline would be her hip injury from 2013 Then the lead for ARTPOP would’ve been released early/mid 2013, Dope wouldn’t exist (nor IWBWU), her old management probably wouldn’t have left so CTC wouldn’t have happened. CTC being recorded live is what inspired Joanne’s usage of real instrumentation. I’d bet that Joanne inspired ASIB in some way (she was probably like let me make this country album before I make this country soundtrack so that the soundtrack slays) so then ASIB probably wouldn’t have happened with her in it... who knows after that

I’m pretty sure this was the exact cover they used, NRJ France also reported it as the six single first so it may have been planned as a territorial single ala Eh, Eh originally who knows but the link to that article is broken. There’s stuff about it on ATRL too. Amazon had it listed too at one point for a Jan 24th release if I remember correctly. I can’t remember which site it was but, I remember we found out when a Gaga song (I think Stupid Love) impacted radio properly through said site. This was the promotional single that was circulating before it got cancelled I think https://www.discogs.com/Lady-Gaga-Heavy-Metal-Lover/release/7384977

Gaga clearly started promoting it more towarda the end of the promo era.

The album went #1 by just preorders alone basically, it was the content that turned people off True! The real theory is what would’ve happened if Cheek to Cheek and ARTPOP switched spots. It was like teased also here. Heavy Metal Lover was a fan favourite and Lady loved it also.
HookerDotGov 542
Marry the Night flopping (comparatively) was devastating. It was probably the best up-tempo single of the entire era and should have been released earlier on in the album cycle. I actually would have preferred it be the lead...and I think it would have had similar success to Born This Way. All single choices for the that era were slightly off. Ending with Edge of Glory and You and I was fine, but Marry the Night and Scheisse were such lost opportunities. I wasn't even a Gaga fan at the time and I thought Scheisse was such a banger when I first heard it.
ToxicHot 6,444
The world would be a better place. And I think Marry the Night should’ve been released earlier, either right after Born This Way or right after The Edge of Glory. Or, quite possibly, instead of Judas - but I LOVED that era and music video, and even though it was controversial, that **** was ICONIC. I wouldn’t necessarily wanna erase that single other than to “protect” her career/image. Truly and honestly, I wish Yoü and I had been the real flop of Born This Way. If I’m not mistaken, it was only a hit in the U.S., anyway. I do love the song though. dOnT sAd ReAcT mE 2 bE sHaDy i WiLL RePoRt U!!1!

The original singles planned were MTN as the lead, followed by Born This Way, Scheiße and finally TEOG if I remember rightly.
