Barely a day after Bill Mourneau resigned over budget differences with Prime Minister and Party Trudeau announced that Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland will take his place as Canada's new Finance Minister

 

 

Freeland is an extremely high profile politician in Canada having been the the Minister of Foreign affairs, the top diplomat to deal with NAFTA renegotiations, the main spokeswoman on behalf of Federal Government on Covid-19, and recently became the Deputy Prime Minister who also happened to temporarily take over Prime Minster Role when Justin Trudeau was in his 2 week quarantine

 

Although she will now be the finance minister she will still maintain her position of Deputy Prime Minister at the same time

Shea very well liked and appears to have a very likable personality in addition to appearing very competent in general.

 

And as I said her experience in politics is extensive having held multiple high positions

It's true she's had many high positions over the years and has a lot of experience and appears competent but none of her past roles as far as I know ever involved accounting or math

 

That doesn't mean she isn't qualified or doesn't have studies for it tho. I'm just saying none of her past roles that I know of have anything to do with this

 

Also Trudeau seems to have a low-key obsession with her always promoting her to higher and higher roles and always speaking so great about her

 

I dunno if she's actually that good or if low-key he's infatuated

Accounting and math are vastly different, and both are different from finance. It can be learned relatively easily. A solid understanding of how the government works is probably more important for a position like this

She's  the Deputy Prime Minister (second in charge)... She's been speaking constantly on the news to reporters on Covid-19 updates and before that she was on the news all the time because she was the main person representing Canada with the Tarrifs and NAFTA renegotiations

 

She's literally the most high profile Federal Politician right now next to the Prime Minister himself
