I think he actually said it was "a grower" or something, which implies it took a while to like it. He's *very* classic so I think something like Chromatica with as much house influence as it has, won't appeal much to him nor would he know how to speak on it. It came to being in the 90s. He was already 20 some odd years into his career by then. Pop in the 80s and 2000s (since it's inspired by 80s) vein he gets (hence why he likes Sawayama, I imagine), but 90s is a bit of an anomaly especially the sort she pulled from this time around. Yeah I think he understands that he might have his own thoughts on what she should do but that she’s her own artist and needs to follow her instincts.
