And the weirdest part is that Gaga isn't that special, her lyrics are mediocre at best, overproduced. Her last good album was Born This Way, and of course TFM. Chromatica is mediocre af. 

I don't care if this is a Gaga forum, y'all keep pressed about other female artists, don't be hypocrite.

And people say I make long posts? At least they don't take half an hour to read. This idea was really not crying out for a half hour analysis, talk about over-thinking. It's not that deep, man.

Criticising Taylor for dating too much hasn't been a thing for years. When she had a long relationship with Calvin, that evened things out and she's been with her current guy for what, 4 years now? 3 men since 2015 isn't a big deal and she's being taken more seriously now she's been with the same guy for so long, so what is there to criticise now? And because she's been with the one guy, her songs aren't about her exes anymore, so that's another criticism that no longer applies. So any claims of sexism are just not relevant anymore, if they were ever valid. And the reason why people criticised her for these things were because, despite only being with each boy for 3 months tops, she always claimed to be so in love with them, she was just like a lovestruck teenager who fell too fast and it was cringey. To write songs about everyone that you dated when the relationships were that short just seemed like overkill. It's actually amazing that when she broke up from Calvin, her longest ever relationship at the time, she didn't write a break-up album, the one time she was actually well within her rights to do so, so I give her props for that at least. A lot of men get away with dating a lot of women without comment because they're real about the fact that they just have one night stands or short flings, they never make it about love. Taylor always dates famous guys too, and let her relationships play out in the media, gave subtle hints as to who each song was about and shaded her exes numerous times. That behaviour always goes down badly, regardless of gender. There are women who have dated a lot but don't get slammed like she does. The key is to keep it classy after the break up, which she always struggled to do until Calvin.

So, the real reason that I dislike her: she's just a boring artist to me. Her music, while well-written sometimes, isn't the masterpiece critics and public make out. She can't sing that well. She can't dance. Her production is seriously bland and I struggle to remember what a lot of her album tracks sound like because they're just so forgettable. She's not a great all-round performer. She's got talent but doesn't wow me. And I truly can't warm to her as a person. She shades her exes, takes people to court over very little, bans her own fans from writing misheard (misheard!) song lyrics on t-shirts, copyrights the phrase "this sick beat" which she didn't even invent, goes after streaming companies because she doesn't think she gets enough money for her art, is obsessed with Kanye and lied to paint him as a villain (yes, I know she didn't hear the bitch line but she knew about everything else and liked it), uses marketing tricks to get high first week numbers and prioritises rich fans over poor fans with ridiculous deals. Plus, she's so me me me with a massive victim mentality and overwhelming narcissism. She's one of these people that I wonder how she actually gained and kept fans. That's why I don't like her. Her dating history is the least of her problems.

You joined this site just under a year ago. BTW came out in 2011, yet you decided after a further two lacklustre albums and a soundtrack that she was still good enough in your eyes to join her fan forum? And you didn't like her new album into the bargain but are still here? Forgive us for being a little suspicious of your motives.

Great thread, and thanks to everyone for their contributions. It's good to see people are so passionate about their faves. Millions of people love Gaga's music (I'm one of em), and millions of people love Taylor's music (I'm not one of em, but so what). It's great that they're both out there making their art.

I mean zero shade with the next comment, please believe me, zero. I'm just going to put it out there because maybe some people will end up with some new music on their playlist, and that can only be good.

If you like Folklore (or even if you don't) you might also like Tapestry by Carole King. It's a very famous album, and maybe most of you guys already know it backwards, but if you don't know it, I would recommend it.
