Canada which passed legislation some time ago to try and control internet rates from service providers to prevent prices from going above certain rates is now causing problems in rural areas

In many small towns or isolated communities the cost of running services per customer is much higher. With the new price controls there is no profit in many of these areas

As a result many companies are no longer expanding or upgrading infrastructure in such communities which are being left out of important upgrades and being left with unreliable or slow internet

It would of been better if the Government stopped listening to lobbiests in Canada's Telecom monopolies and just allowed competition like a normal industry

When Verizon wanted to come to Canada why the hell did they block it???????? They listened to the stupid Canadian giants acting like foreign companies are such a bad thing :triggered:

Price controls are always a messy thing. Supply and demand dynamics, costs etc are in a state of constant flux and change and even vary from company to company. The Government can almost never manage price controls well and just causes crap to happen

Venezuela tried price controls to control inflation and they just made it worse. :toofunny:

Another example of the poor being failed by the governments of the world. Rich get richer and poor get poorer :( How are people going to get out of poverty if they have no resources to do things like research and studying

going off on one here but:

less people able to learn and go into further education > less qualified people in industries > governments seeking people outside the country to fill those places instead

literally happening in the U.K. right now with nursing which gives the government the option to pick and choose who enters and who leaves :spin: mess.
