As for if it can be worse... Not really but I think Netflix is trying to fit the story to maybe be more inclusive and change storylines and characters.  There are no real LGBTQ characters in ATLA, only Korra was openly bi and it was at the last minute of the last episode. Also if I remember correctly there are almost no blacks so they might change that. And while I can understand, the creators may not see it that way 

i was just telling a friend this and that we dont really need the creators anymore unless production team needs guidance on avatar lore or a timeline of events

anyway i hope it turns out good and additional seasons are greenlit because i really wanna see some sun warriors (in my mind they’re indigenous mexican and id love to see them portrayed by such people)
