Ok, can appreciate your points there but I find it really annoying that people like to connect things being mysoginistic, people need to realize that NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT GENDER. This is about Katy specifically, no one is talking about other artists, regardless of their gender.

It’s not just about Katy, it’s female artists in general who everyone expects & requires to change & “evolve” with every album cycle. Look at every female singer today compared to the men. They have entire teams dedicated to changing their look, their sound, their image while men sit there & do absolutely nothing except put out music. So there is misogyny interwoven in that users statements whether they meant it or not.

While that's true about it in general, mysoginy do exists, you cant just assume people's intention of their statement unless the statements given by the person is really prominently towards that issue. we all have different spectrum of perceptions. Maybe I'm just more of a straight forward person, but I would say the same thing you did about it being mysoginistic, if the person was leaning towards more of the issue.

You just don't go around claiming that this person is a mysoginist, based on this statement that doesn't stem off directly. It's the approach I think thats iffy.

LOVE FOOLISH

Katy is absolutely amazing. Here she is, giving her fans endless and fun content with a raging pandemic happening outside WHILE pregnant?! Then here I am, eating Taco Bell and struggling to send my professor an email :fatcat:

I am so excited for Teary Eyes! It is perfect to listen to while speeding down the highway lol. Now I am really starting to get excited for this album. I also think it’s really cute how she’s interacting with fans and giving these little previews. I might have to catch up on these live streams!

Are you ok? I never said that user was a misogynist, I said their statement was misogynistic & further pushed the misogynistic narrative that females are nothing unless they evolve each album. I then gave examples as to why what they said was misogynistic, regardless if they meant to be or not. People don’t mean to say a lot of things, just because they didn’t intend for it to be misogynistic doesn’t make it any less misogynistic. Do you understand? Also saying “you can’t just assume people’s intentions” like what are you even talking about? I commented on the ideology they expressed through their statement & that statement is fueled by misogynistic beliefs about women in music. It doesn’t matter if they meant it to be that way or not, it simply IS misogynistic. That’s it, end of discussion.

Xoxo Adriana

i’m so glad she didn’t change Resilient too much from the demo snippet, there was a rumour she changed it completely into a ballad.

it’s perfect the way it is, i think this will be my favourite off the album:wub:

Teary Eyes, Not the End of the World, Resilient, HIH, NRO my top 5 on the album :poot:

This album is shaping up to be actually pretty good. I don't know what her team was thinking when releasing Smile as the promo single :bear:

Love it when you call me legs, in the morning buy me eggs 🥚

It's a cute song but the snippets so far have been bangers! She probably just wanted to emphasize what the title of the album means to her.
