@God Control Wow

@nickkoko The first half is great. The second half is really experimental and an odd turn from the first half. It's interesting, but more often a skip for me.

@MonsterOfSpain Madame X keeps getting creative! Love the piano, the lyrics and message (the spoken part is iconic), the howling wind... Overall really interesting, though it's not among my most played songs.

@whoresup Really interesting structure, I like how unconventional the song is although it is a bit repetitive in some parts.

@Trillion Reasons I can enjoy Dark Ballet to the moment when robotic voice part begins. I like 'Nutcracker' but this voice is just not this. Outro (they are so naive...) is one of my favorite moments from Madame X.

@Philo Starts off okay but kinda boring, then becames a capital mess once that vocoder kicks in. I'm also shocked that this was a promo single as she should have just kept it as it is, definitely the worst song on the album. I could sit throught it maybe a total of 4 times? I even skip it when listening to the album in full, horrible song. Even hearing it live did not help.

@Lionel Ronaldo I like the beginning but the autotune thing and the end is awful. Also Madonna s voice is weak

@Blown Away The first part sounded cute, instrumentally and melodically speaking. The vocals were once again terrible, but I could bear with the song, then the first switch happened and the song lost me. It got too chaotic. Then another switch happened and it was over for me.

@memomemome Second song in already made you intrigued. It's really a trip of a carousel with Madame X persona is really showing here

@MingersPrayer I tried very hard to love this song. I detested it when I heard it at the Met Gala but the full version, with it's powerful video did sell me on it more. For me it just misses the mark of greatness. Madonna has a category of song where she attempts to say something profound but the lyrics are in fact basic. "I can dress like a boy, I can dress like a girl" - this is not revolutionary and has already been covered more effectively in her previous work. To me "Can't you hear outside of your Supreme hoodie" is another fail - trying to be ironic & dry but actually not achieving it's desired impact. There are other areas this song shines "The storm isn't in the air, it's inside of us - I want to tell you about love and loneliness" is a nice nod to the past and also a more intellectual lyric. I do enjoy how unusual the production is.

@BadGurlMadge Well......

@Pennywise I love the song, I just wish it had more piano instrumentals like it does at the end

@monstertoronto Such a strange and beautiful song. Everytime I hear her autotuned voice singing the part from Nutcracker I want to laugh in a good way. If anyone had any doubt that this is Madonna's experimental album, the fact that she released this as a single (or promo single?), is proof. Meaningful and memorable.

@erotic4 Incredible and experimental. The lack of chorus is quite different from what she usually does. The instrumental at the end is magical. High point of the album.

@Towelney I love it up til 1:35

@shoful Electronica taken to the extreme! A continuation of American Life, Madonna bellows “It’s beautiful life, but I’m not concerned.... I can dress like a boy, I can dress like a girl” drawing directly from the lead single and title track of her political album. Her speech entangled with pure electronic autotune, giving a chilling and distant and authoritative tone. This is Madonna’s proclamation followed by the legendary Joan of Arc’s story in a trippy distorted voice mixed with the nutcracker and spewing out fire. This isn’t just a song, this is political art!

What the f*ck?!!!! I expected this to be on the top 5 at least.

@God Control Incredible

@nickkoko Not a bad song, but does fall a little flat for me. I like the message, but the production doesn't seem to go anywhere and some lyrics are a little tough to listen to.

@MonsterOfSpain Just by the opening line you can tell this song is iconic. The Portuguese hook, those lyrics... Wow what a masterpiece. Madame X really ended authoritarianism, xenophobia and world hunger with this one. Queen of the gays, Israel, Islam, children, women and everything.

@whoresup Love the lyrics and they stand out here. They are very simplistic but I think it works and I also am a fan of the production, especially when it all layers up at the end.

@selenalavigne Super underrated. beautiful song. makes me super nostalgic.

@Philo A bit too forced on the political side and the verses are dragging too long but the chorus is nice and makes up for the rest, also is a grower as a whole.

@Lionel Ronaldo Boring. I like the beginning but when her voice came in... no

@Blown Away I thought I had found the worst song on the album, but this one is very stiff competition for that title. It has all the things I don't like in a song. Excessive use of Auto-Tune, a lazy and boring instrumental, a non-existing melody and the use of another language but with terrible pronunciation.

@memomemome I think about it, no one I think of can dare to put this lyrics and sing it. Really bold of her.
The sound is i think very central to Madame X sound. Confessional, Daring, and delivered in believable way.

@MingersPrayer Lyrically, some insensitive moments. But musically mature and well rounded.

@Pennywise The lyrics are good. The song, not so much.

@monstertoronto I get what she's going for here but the lyrics are cringe.

@erotic4 Very cool to listen to her singing in Portuguese. In the second third of the song, the instrumental is beautiful.

@shoful My all time favorite song on the album and one of my favorite songs in her entire discography. The first inclusion of Portuguese lyrics in the album and Madonna delivers them perfectly. When that chorus break hits at the center of the song, how can you not groove to it? It is absolutely hypnotizing. Mirwais’ production is at its peak here! The instrument that is used at one point in the song blows me away. I’ve never heard anything like it before. The lyrics are SO IMPORTANT! So many injustices in this world that need to set straight. It’s grotesque how evil some people are. O mundo e selvagem, O caminho e solitário!
