It’s definitely not a bad thing, in fact it’s the first Miley song I’ve heard in years that gets me excited. I guess I meant the song sounds like a synthwave/disco hybrid, in that Plastic Doll’s rhythm sounds very Queen’s Radio Gaga/Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill or the Eurhythmics Sweet Dreams. A very mid 80s wobbly choppy electro syncopated beat. While the melody of Midnight Sky is very late 70s disco, so that’s why it sounds like a Plastic Doll/Replay mashup to me.
