Björk's Orchestral series of concert that was due to take place over the 4 weekends of August in Iceland has been rescheduled due to new restrictions that forbid the gatherings that exceed 1000 people. The new dates have not been announced yet. The concerts were also going to be live streamed online.

Here's the official announcement by Iceland Airwaves:

"IN LIGHT OF RECENT NEWS ON FURTHER TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS IN ICELAND BECAUSE OF COVID-19 IT IS CLEAR THAT SOME OF THE BJÖRK ORKESTRAL SHOWS MUST BE RESCHEDULED.

WE ARE WORKING HARD ON FINDING THE BEST SOLUTION AND WILL ANNOUNCE THE NEW DATES SHORTLY, FOR THE SHOWS THAT NEED TO BE MOVED TO NEW DATES.

ALL TICKET BUYERS WILL GET AN EMAIL SOON WITH ALL DETAILS ABOUT THE NEW PLAN.

SAME TICKETS WILL BE VALID FOR THE NEW DATES, BUT IF A TICKET BUYER CAN‘T FOR SOME REASON COME ON THE NEW DATE, A REFUND CAN BE CLAIMED AFTER THE NEW DATES HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED.

THE SAFETY OF OUR GUESTS IS ALWAYS A TOP PRIORITY; THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND PATIENCE."

This comes as a result of covid19 cases witnessing a rise once again in Iceland, after the outbreak had been under control for a while now. Yesterday they had 11 new cases.

Time to listen to her albums on your album recommendation thread :vegas: I suggest you start with Homogenic or Vespertine

*start* with those? Lmao I’d say start with Post. It’s a bit easier to get into than Vespertine or some of Homogenic. If they’re a Gaga fan, I reckon they’d like Debut and Post a lot since the dances and industrial elements of both are more balanced and commercial than later albums.

Ideally i would start with Debut and continue chronologically but since they're listening to many albums and won't be going thru all of her discography (not now at least) i suggested my top 2 albums. But yeah Post is definitely the easiest to digest.

I agree with this chart lmao though I think I’d put Biophilia a bit lower than Utopia as far as “less accessible” goes. Cosmogony aside, it’s a *super* spacey album. I think of Lightning and Dark Matter alone and find those just a little harder to reach folks casually than, say, The Gate or Blissing Me, or something.

OH ok then I get you :) I thought you wanted them to start their Björk journey by throwing them to “volcanic beats” then “microbeats” Björk hahaha

This is weird because Medulla has the fame of being the weirdest because of 2-3 really weird songs. But besides that, I think it is one of her most pop-structured albums..

On the other hand, Vulnicura and Utopia are the thoroughly weird ones with really complex arrangement and melody structures that are very hard to digest even for a seasoned listener.

I’ve seen a couple of charts like this, I just keep this one on my phone because it’s the most accurate in my opinion. I didn’t get into Bjork this way though, I actually heard biophilia first, I remember it came out around Born This Way when I was around 13, and the cover art interested me so I bought the album on iTunes. Then I had the app, and I fell into a hole of becoming a Björk stan! Biophilia is probably my favorite album

I think that Debut and Volta should be switched. Volta has more pop based moments in it over Debut to me.

edit: it specified that Volta is more “pop”, I just think it’s easier to get into over debut
