Be honest, if Gaga had special collectors edition of Chromatica all of you would be so happy. Why can’t we rejoice about Taylor’s release on a Taylor thread. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy merch

Please, you must not grasping what being a fan to somebody really means yet. It's not just empty "I Love You's", you need to actually do something to ensure your faves career keep going. Every-single-time. And one of them is by purchasing these music albums, to show to their label that their fave still have sales power so they won't get dropped by the label and called a hasbeen by media and locals alike.   

If anything, Taylor is pretty business savvy for doing this.

You can sit on your high horse on why this is wrong, according to you. But just realize this is called a showbiz. There are biz on that word for a reason. People are trying to make money with their talent. It's business. And if they can capitalize on it, why not?
