I've never heard this song before. How did it sell that much so quickly?

He's a well known actor and singer in China, he in fact has a Guiness World Record selling a reported 25.48 million downloads in 24 hours.

"better song" "a song no one knows". How do you know the quality of a song you've never heard to determine which is better?

Well if the song has sold this much it doesn’t qualify as a “song no one knows about”

I'm sure people outside of China and his fans don't know the song or of him. The song only needs 7.3M more sales to bypass SoY

Didn't the rules just change with China, though? Was Shape of You even released there?

Maybe because the Western World isn't the whole World :awkney:

whore

It’s like people think culture is limited to just Western consumption :awkney: The population of China could absolutely obliterate any music record set by a Western or European artist

China alone is a huge huge ass market... More than a billion people lives there, and he's so popular there too, and Chinese people tend to not use spotify and streaming services that often compared to western or other Asia regions in general, so I guess digital and physical copies are still dominant there, in fact they have their own Google, it's Bing which is huge, so they don't use Google, so don't be shock when you hear a song we don't know but still outsold the ed sheeran song
