BTW dead ass created a whole new sound by merging industrial synths that you’d never hear on the radio with 80s synth pop and rock. Sure there are some more safe songs on the album (the singles that charted in the top 10) but the rest are very out there, especially for a pop star at her peak. The only thing experimental about ARTPOP was the lyrical choices, and maybe Aura, Venus, and JnD. The rest of the songs could’ve been huge if you know, they had actually been released the year before :bear: And mess at some of y’all calling Chromatica experimental. I’d like to know anymore than 3/4 songs that wouldn’t fit right into Witness or a mall playlist.

All of you may think ARTPOP is the most experimental album but the truth is Joanne is the most experimental one. We never thought Gaga would have sing folk and country tunes

Born This Way.

It's the album with the most intricate production.

Along with many of the tracks not following the typical pop song "verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus" structure and many of them having extended intros/outros that again, don't fit with the generic pop song structure.

And then she came to that in Chromatica :poot:

BTW is her most experimental by far.  ARTPOP is a mix of different genres, but that doesn't make it experimental. Saying that, I am still waiting for her to one day release an actual experimental album as imo all her albums are actually quite 'safe' in terms of that.

Song structure wise its Chromatica. Sound wise none yet but Aura is close to an experimental track. In my opinion.

All of Gaga's works are experimental for their time of release, but the most would be BTW for sure. Very unique takes on what a pop song could be, with each song standing out from one another. ARTPOP had some highly experimental moments (Venus, Aura, ARTPOP) mixed in with others that were more 'safe' than the vision she described.

Gaga + Fernando + DJWS are truly a dream team.
