I've seen her live once-she was amazing- and also I've been asked to write a review for a local paper and I glorified her! I saw her a couple months after Ultraviolence was released. Such an amazing show. Yea, I hear you. I like how she doesn’t shy away from relating (*not* glamorizing) difficult and sometimes ugly experiences. i don't remember ARTPOP

weed 73,872
They have completely different styles. Who’s a better lyricist, Jay Z or Fiona Apple both write lyrics applicable to their music, that resonate with different people. I voted Taylor though

I don’t like it. I don’t. I don’t sing it. I sing “Ultraviolence” but I don’t sing that line anymore. Having someone be aggressive in a relationship was the only relationship I knew. I’m not going to say that that [lyric] was 100 percent true, but I do feel comfortable saying what I was used to was a difficult, tumultuous relationship, and it wasn’t because of me. It didn’t come from my end.” https://pitchfork.com/features/interview/life-liberty-and-the-pursuit-of-happiness-a-conversation-with-lana-del-rey/ i understand that her thought have changed since she wrote those lyrics. even tho i think she has to stick beside the lyrics she wrote because it felt real for her, she was feeling that way, and being vocal about abusers doesn't erase the way abusers make you mistake your feeling in order to abuse/control you. I try not to think about how it’s been almost 8 years since their last (and possibly their last,) album. Me too, I was heavily involved on their fan forum back in like 2004 haha. It makes me so sad that I never got to see them live, and probably missed my chance to see Gwen too. I was hoping they’d do a reunion or something this year for the 25th anniversary for Tragic Kingdom reality’s tight if the music is right
Doot 2
Both are very skilled but Lana at least seems to be able to write great lyrics to a melody. Versus just a story that occasionally rhymes on top of an instrumental.

I doubt Gaga’s willing to give up 50% of her own credits legally for something small. If you look back at the leaked files you can even see there is actual significance to those numbers, so much that people ask for more shares. It’s not something she can just legally lie about and say “oh yeah he made 60% of the song even though I wrote the whole thing” And even then, why would she chose not to give credits for the three self written songs? I’m sure there are instances where Gaga has given a producer 10% for something small in the past but come on, there are a lot of her songs where she’s not even credited as the lead writer. Which is why I’m waiting for that fully self written acoustic album

Speaking of lyrics, Return Of Saturn’s destroy me.
