If Gaga Released Folklore

You all do know that folk doesn’t have to be completely monotone and boring right? I would love to hear Gaga give this sound a try. And I’m sure in true Gaga fashion she’d make it her own.

Just for reference:

I'm not sure how it would turn out. Gaga is a powerhouse vocalist. She can hit those soft, sweet, high notes and has done it in some studio versions, but I don't know if that kind of folk/indie/alternative sound would work much for her. It could, who knows, but in my head it just doesn't mesh because all I keep hearing is Gaga belting, which I love anyway. I'd super be here for it if it did work. I love those genres as it is so it would be amazing for me

she'd be called a "try hard" because that would sort of be accurate. This type of music has nothing to do with Gaga's origin story. If she did a more rock type of album I think critics could enjoy it because that actually taps into Gaga's musical tastes, history and abilities.

I would be here for Gaga to release an album like Folklore. I love that Taylor just released it to release it. It seems really organic and not forced like Joanne was. I think gaga feels like she has to have an entire era/tour for each album. I wish she would just follow her heart and make music to make it and release it before scrapping everything.

Gaga has the range to do anything and I think she has the lyrical ability to make a really cool album like this.

I wonder if those who say they want her to do a Folklore type of album are just saying it because of the acclaim it’s getting. Joanne got dragged to the pits by this fanbase. :rip:

G*ga doesn't have the lyrical range. No matter how many times she sings Bad Romance on the piano she will never have that storytelling ability. It's fine, it's just different, that's why no one wants Gaga to go stripped back, as opposed to Taylor fans, because they know that's where Taylor shines

Repent now.

President Biden

folklore is nothing like a Gaga album, so it wouldn’t fit.

If Gaga did something more rock, I agree that taps more into her roots. Hence why she made Joanne while Taylor did folklore.

I got drunk

I literally can't with people saying that Gaga's a meh songwriter... like c'mon she's an AMAZING songwriter and so is Taylor and that's a straight fact!

Of course I would. I'll listen to anything this woman makes. I'll support her forever.

but tbh I don't think Gaga's indie-alt album would sound anything like folklore.

and to yall shitting on Gaga's songwriting....... excuse me what....? her and Taylor's lyric styles are totally different. they both have very different influences and takes on pop music.

Agreed. I do think Gaga is a stronger composer though. Taylor's melodies are not as great as her lyrics. Gaga is the opposite. Maybe she should do what Elton does for a song/album. Compose the song and let someone else write the lyrics.

Gaga's voice is also too over the top to go for that kind of stripped back sound. She'd probably have to do more of a Jagged Little Pill kind of album to reach that upper level. Joanne was her attempt at stripped back and well...

Probably in the minority, but I'd like her to chill out on the power house vocals a bit for the next album.

Meh. I haven't even heard Folklore bc I'm not a Swiftie. Is it even good?

I recommend it when trying to relax at the night. That is when you can focusnon the lyrics more than the beats (mainly because I learned that most LMs listen mainly to the beat more than the lyrics then check it later.)

I'm like some kind of supernova
