Do you think her rollout order is getting a little old and doesn't work well in the streaming era ? . I mean it always goes as follows:

Months of silence

Years of teasing

Leaks

Album announcement

Leaks

Lead single announcement

Lead single release

Lead single video

Second single release

Album release

Performance

Third  single release

Silence.

I think i would love the next era to come as a surprise, no contant teasing by her team , maybe try releasing some stand alone singles without mentioning the album.  Maybe releasing the album and lead single on the same day . What do you think ?:messga:

I'm here for lead single + album on the same day however I quite enjoy the excitement of lead single, second single, promo single (if we're lucky) and. then the album.

I don't really agree, it's always a bit different

I hope the next album's announcement is the first thing to come:pray: it's frustrating when a lead single is released but you don't even know the name of the album...somehow it makes the song "unofficial" in my mind

I mean, Chromatica is one of the best selling records this year so I don't know if she NEEDS to try a new rollout.

Having just experienced Taylor's surprise drop, I would be so here for that from Gaga.

It removes expectations, generates more interest and removes the chance of any complaints regarding promo, single choices, ect. It let's the music do the talking, which is what Gaga is all about nowadays.

I mean, it would be far easier to accept 'no promo' with a surprise release, since we wouldn't have been waiting for months and months of rumours, speculation and teasing. I think a surprise drop would suit Gaga on a personal level, too, as it frees her from the pre-album promo, which she seems to hate.

Maybe Gaga will do this for a stripped back piano album that doesn't rely on promo or spectacle videos. We all know it's something she wants to do, and probably will do for her next record.

If the single & album get released on the same day, it means no era at all. Like, dead on arrival :heat:

That being said, it worked for ASIB, but there was a whole movie to back it up

80% of us don't care about the sales, though, it's more about entertainment

Yeah but the reason OP gave for this is that it "doesn't work well in the streaming era" which is clearly not the case. Also, rollouts are clearly made to promote an album and sell it.

I don't see the entertainment in just surprise releasing an entire record. Anticipation is a huge part of an experiencing an era.

"Streaming era" doesn't necessarily refer to sales, but it can

With Gaga most of the anticipation leads to nothing :bear: because all she ever does is tease and then never mentions them again. Do I have to remind you of when she teased a whole ass album and we ended up with nothing? When she waited the last day to tell us the ARTPOP app countdown lead to nothing? All the remixes, extra versions, etc. of songs she’s teased? Now we’re sitting on the Chromatica TV concept and she won’t tell us anything.
