Did Taylor cause some irreparable damage to Katy?

I mean I’ve always felt Bad Blood kind of caused the media to turn its back to Katy and it played out in the long run. Good thing they’ve made amends but I think most of her US fans went with Taylor

No. TS don't have any responsibilities to blame.

She only said what she said, she was hurt by how someone she thought as friend could do the thing they did to her.

But it is all goes back to Katy. I don't believe someone will suddenly suffer a huge setback in their life or career when they were seemingly flourished and at the top of their game the   moment before, unless they really do some bad things behind the scenes. You can call it karma or anything. But one thing for sure is that people will have to be responsible to every actions they did in the end.

Gagaism

I don’t think so. We don’t know if Taylor would remain successful if she hadn’t made that twist on her career. Katy is not doing well lately because she lost her timing for a reinvention imo.

Yes her albums gaps were 4 years at least Gaga inserted cheek to cheek and ASIB in her studio album gaps

I think Katy's 'response' to Bad Blood damaged her career cause Swish Swish was, interesting:stalkga:

Debatable :huntyga:

But if Taylor has the kind of power to take Katy from "I just got another billion views video" to "yay my album's title track is number 20-something...on bubbling under :flop:" then she needs to be stopped and/or feared :wtf:

You're stinky

No, Katy's downfall was simply because the music went downhill and her image was no longer engaging.

Outside of pop stans, I don't think vast majority of people know nor care about whatever lame feuds celebrities are dealing with, especially less media sensationalized ones like theirs.

I dont think it was the sole reason but Yes, I think their feud had something to do with katys downward spiral . Love Taylor, but she's good at playing the victim and as usual she activated her fans against Katy and got the GPs sympathy.

The sad part is that the feud went on for so long and by the time they made up the GP had already forgotten about Katy.infact many people still think they are still feuding

No, Taylor has immense impact, but Bad Blood to non stans and people involved in pop culture is just a song. Most people aren't checking for beef about tour dancers. Not to mention, You Need To Calm Down would have settled that and repaired it if it had.

I truly believe her cutting her hair and changing her image after Chained to the Rhythm damaged her a lot for her commercial success.

Katy Perry had immense sex appeal, which spoke to hetero general population a great magnitude, even more-so after her super bowl performance. It was cool to like Katy Perry among straight guys, even. She was the girl that sang I Kissed a Girl. She was hot. She was sexy.

Her image changed after she cut her hair. She was not as attractive and lost sex appeal.

I like Katy Perry. I think she is talented and I enjoy almost all of her songs. But she is also a pop artist. There's other reasons she made it big. And when you took away those reasons, you have what you have now.

Although, she's also what? 12 years into her career? She's going to decline regardless after that length of time in the streaming world where new and exciting artists are constantly introduced.

Her image this era isn't exactly sexy, or a return to form from a visual standpoint.

Reject False Icons

I guess the direct punch was when she released her records on Spotify at the same time as Witness release :diane:

but is not like old records would block Katy’s new album from the charts in only one platform

You're simply giving Taylor too much credit for something that had already started to happen by the end of the Prism era.

Katy doesn't have a solid fanbase that supports her, so most of her followers are casual fans/pop fans. She hasn't reinvented herself either, so people got bored and the trendy sound changed. And she hasn't taken any risks like Gaga, to sing other type of music or act in a film.
