theduy0312 100 Posted July 21, 2020 Share Posted July 21, 2020 Like, we have a pair of successful pop queens each decade, each pair debuts around the same time and are on the same level of success, one of them will be less successful than the other, and the one with bigger fanbase usually becomes bigger in the end. 1980s - Madonna & Whiney: Madonna debuted on 1983, Whitney 1985, both are the top global females of the 1980s, but Madonna became bigger in the end. 1990s - Mariah & Celine: Mariah debuted on 1990, Celine's first English album was also in 1990, both gained huge commercial success throughout the 1990s, Mariah ruled single department, Celine ruled album department. Mariah had longevity and became bigger in the end. 2000s - Britney & Christina: both debuted in 1999, with #1 debut singles and huge debut era, and slay the 2000s. Britney had longevity and became bigger in the end. 2010s - Gaga & Katy: both debuted in 2008, same case as Britney and Christina. Gaga had longevity and became bigger in the end. 2020s - Billie and Dua: both debuted in 2015, gained success in 2018/19 and currently the most successful new pop girls at the moment. Do you think Billie and Dua will become the biggest global pop girls of 2020s like the pairs above. I feel like Billie will go back to being lowkey and not that successful with Grammys raining, etc and be more alternative like Lana and for a specific cult fanbase that won't include the GP.
