Why can Beyonce not promote an album but Gaga "has to?"

because it’s a conceptual era and we been knew from the start of the era that they had a shitload of promo prepared months in advance and the fans are simply waiting for that concept to unfold.. that‘s why „she has to“ (she doesn‘t have to imo tho)

The "no promo" thing is just an excuse by stans. PROMO IS NOT GONNA MAKE THIS ALBUM DO MUCH BETTER. Just look at Joanne vs Chromatica.

Have you seen the promo Katy Perry is doing? Not to start a stan war but it's kind of embarrassing. She is going on all these shows, making all these appearances no matter how small the outlet is. That's something a new artist is supposed to do when they are trying to make a name for themselves. A big name like Gaga should really only do the big award shows, SNL, and a couple more big shows.

As for Beyonce, her invisibility is part of her brand. And her fans are NOT happy about her being so distant.

In the streaming age, you just need playlisting, some videos, IG posts, and a couple live performances.

I think a lot of this fan base is still stuck in 2009 and hasn’t realized Gaga doesn’t need to prove herself anymore. Even the artists people here compare her to are way below her, she’s more comparable to Beyoncé than Dua. She’s just at a different stage of her career now and people don’t want to accept that

I can bet there’s not one fan that thinks she needs to prove herself. Proving herself is literally not what fans want. Era is not complete without performances and without expansion of her vision. Chromatica is this HUGE world and we literally saw nothing from it.

Ugh just scroll up and see there’s someone saying she needs to do it because the GP doesn’t care anymore and she “fell off”

Agreed that it’s a world we saw nothing from, but the album did just fine with minimal promo so technically she didn’t NEED to do any

Do you think people will still talk about beyonce's album Lemonade 20 years from now ?

We all know Bey is like the Queen of.... But how and when did this happen? I mean 10 years ago she wasn't as big as she is now. When did she sudenly she recieve this status? She was then known for the same talend as she is now right? What changed? It's not a matter huge hits I guess. I feel like a big part of the gp only knows Single Ladies, a few other songs from the 2000's, and Run the World (girls).

Please give a short answer, please be kind.

since her groundbreaking 2013 self titled album i guess?

People say Beyoncé has a low IQ, and that's why her team doesn't let her do interviews.

It has nothing to do with her IQ ffs. You all will say anything to put her down; and citing “people” as a source of information? Grow up.

Well if gaga gave us a visual album like beyonce has done for her last few albums, we wouldnt be complaining.

The thing is Gaga is much more than the music, its herself and the visual art she puts into her career. she did that for a few weeks for chromatica and then she stopped.

She can do whatever she likes, but in my opinion the way shes going for with chromatica is boring, every day that goes by Im listening to the album less and less because I’ve already heard every song a million times and I have no performances or interviews or looks to make the songs exciting for me again

I See You

if gaga released an experimental album with visuals for each songs and do a surprise release like beyonce's self titled album i wouldnt mind if she's not promoting. but i guess thats not the case for chromatica, a dance album full of radio friendly songs with a traditional album campaign (lead single - 2nd single - promo single -  album pre order + merch)

People will definitely be talking about Lemonade 20 years from now. People don’t seem to realize that she’s not just a pop star. She’s a cultural icon and every time she releases a project it’s something well thought out with very deep and personal meaning behind it. Lemonade was probably her most personal album yet and one of her best.
