the "it's my" sample in Replay has a deep meaning

So as you know It's My House by Diana Ross was sampled in the song, the sample always ends with Donna saying "it's my" and starts again.

At 2:53 (play to listen) you can hear the "it's my" loudly compare to the previous times in the song and it's happens in the outro where she says:

Your monsters torture me
Your monsters torture me (it's my)
Your monsters torture me

The meaning of this "it's my" is that little voice in her head that many rape survivors has, the voice that blames themselves for what happened and it's the biggest monster to deal with "he's the monster but it's my fault that it happened to me", but also the meaning of denial, that the monsters of everyone are haunting them, the lack of trust and the fear of being hurt by monsters of other's, but at the end the monster is their trauma "it's my monster that I need to deal with now".

I really don’t think it’s that deep. Not even sure she’s saying “it’s my” :ohwell:

Did you see that weird emoji puzzle recently? Even when she says it's not deep, it's deep :fatcat:

I never even thought of that! Replay is such an amazing song and I feel like there are so many hidden meanings in it, I can’t wait for Gaga to tell us more about the process and meaning behind it. However since we know it’s about ptsd from her sexual assault, I always wonder if the sound of cars in the beginning has a deeper meaning, or maybe it’s just something that sounded cool in production.

"It's my house and I live here" is the full lyric from that sample.

In this context, the house here being her own mind, and a "place" she can't escape when she is feeling this way? But also something she is struggling to take control of and feel peace within.

i don't remember ARTPOP

That’s cool! Who’s Donna Winters and why is she singing this song that Diana Ross sings. What am I missing :derpga: is there another version?

I'm not sure if you guys know this, but It's a sample from Diana Ross's song 'It's My House'.

Those are Diana's vocals, not Gaga!

Donna Winters doesn't even exist :air: and if it's a play on Donna Summer wrong singer :laughga:

but that's an interesting interpretation. There must be a meaning for it's inclusion, it's very audible
