Just like youtube a couple years ago, so don't be a snob This is probably the most infuriating thing about GGD members attitudes towards up and coming black artists. They constantly try to make little of their accomplishments by referring to their music as “tik tok” music as if the delegitimizes all their accomplishments. They do it to Drake, Roddy and now Megan and it has to stop. Justin Bieber is one of the biggest artists and no one ever mentions that he started out by posting videos on YouTube. It’s also ironic because some of these same people will drag you if you say something that even remotely resembles belittling the Youtubers that they watch religiously who are also usually white; people that literally just post videos of their day to day lives but an artist having a popular song on tik tok is shamed for it. She just started popping into the mainstream this year, so you should know it's a bit too soon to call her that. 2. Tik Tok is becoming a legitimate medium for success in the industry. Just like youtube a couple years ago, so don't be a snob 3. You bringing up your uncalled for and ignorant opinion on something as shallow as her success, when we're talking about something serious speaks volumes to your character and how you view certain issues. To the point where your lil BLM profile doesn't really add up 1. Okay fair point. She does only have one hit though. And, she is only known within the USA 2. Tik Tok is Tik Tok, I can't possibly see how it can be taken seriously. This is my opinion of course. Its not an organic way to get into the music industry. Her song is nothing more that a trendy trap/rap song that people "dance" to on Tik Tok. 3. Someone asked who she was and I only know her from Tik Tok and thus, I gave my orginal comment. I also stated that I wished her well and hope she okay. But you ignored that fact to try and argue with me. I don't know why you and others are trying to make this about race when it was nothing of the sort. She was shot, and injured. I wished her well and hope that she recovers. Stop making everything so black and white, you'll never get anywhere. You have no idea who I am, or what I'm like. So its awfully shallow and ignorant of you to put two and two together and get five as your answer. You don't know my character, so to assume something that you made up in your head is really clownery. I've been very vocal on here (GGD) about my support for equality, and I am fully behind the BLM movement. Not sure why you would try make assumptions that go against what I believe in to prove something you made up in your head. Anyway, wish you the best! And I'll say it again for the people who missed it: I hope that Meg makes a full recovery and that she'll be okay. xoxo, Craig. Honestly though, people would be saying the same if Justin Bieber became huge with a song that was in a tik tok with a cringey dance. I don't see how YouTube can be compared to tik tok at all. YouTube is literally full of people trying to make it by posting covers and stuff like that. Tik Tok is full of people doing a cringey dance to a trendy song that might take off. I wouldn't take making it on Tik Tok as a major accomplishment, white or black. End Racism Now

All I’m saying is Tik Tok is helping their songs build popularity just as YouTube does for many so it’s not fair to try to discredit artists for it. Everyone’s trying to make it and they should be praised for having a song that people enjoy making cringey dance videos to.
