Huh??? I'm confused. We've been in level one for weeks (or over a month) already   I literally went clubbing 2 weeks ago. and we just had multiple overseas travellers break out and escape from their quarantine and go out into public, at least one of which tested positive. I thought we were all collectively holding our breath right now that we don't have another outbreak? What am I missing here?

Damn I usually try to pick the most relevant and recent news I find. :madge:

I saw this on my timeline and assumed it was recent. So in my defense, everyone, including journalist, keeps spreading this story like it's recent. Anyways, the most recent thing I found was some guy who cut through barbed wire to buy alcohol. Also no new cases of COVID today.

Media release

13 July 2020

Today there are no new cases of COVID-19 to report in managed isolation facilities in New Zealand.

It has been 73 days since the last case of COVID-19 was acquired locally from an unknown source.

This means our total number of confirmed cases remains at 1,194, which is the number we report to the World Health Organization.

There are no new recovered cases today, which means the total number of active cases is 25.

There is no one in New Zealand receiving hospital-level care for COVID-19.

This is amazing! I really think that borders from all countries should have stayed closed like NZ did.
I expect covid to be back in full force in September in Europe because everyone will travel everywhere and it will me an awful mess once again...

i think checks at airports will be far stricter though, as it’s a matter of life and death in this situation.

travellers will have to prove they’ve been tested negative before travelling. and if airports aren’t implementing this simple rule, we all f**ked basically!
