So yes, in my opinion Biden winning TX is pure fantasy... especially given he is the democratic candidate in 2020. Biden needs to focus primarily on the states mentioned in my previous comment.

I won't go all out to say he *will* win Texas, but he certainly will close the 9 point gap from 2016.  A toss-up is a best case scenario this cycle.  If Clinton can shrink Obama's 16 point gap to 9 points, there's no reason Biden can't close the gap even further, especially given with Texas changing demographics.  Clinton was also viewed as a continuation of Obama.

This is fluff, but If Biden can gain the same margin, Texas can go +2 Trump this cycle (i.e. Toss-Up).  

 

edit: And to clarify, I 100% agree with you this isn't a state Biden should focus on, but if he did put in the resources, it can come close.
