It's a simply great pop album. I feel there's a harsh juxtaposition between the redone tracks (and paparazzi), and the tracks like bdr, the fame, again again, brown eyes. Like the last half of the album flip flops lops between piano/guitar, and dance pop banger, and it's just all over the place Also I'm kinda biased bc when I got into the fame, it was the Canadian edition which lacked several songs like paper gangsta, I like it rough, etc which ultimately made the album much better cohesivewise

I always felt like it worked. Like, I never saw that album as non-cohesive. The Canadian edition sounds even less cohesive as those songs work with most of the album. Again Again and Summerboy do not though, but I couldn't imagine the album without them now. And dare I say it, I found TFM even less cohesive, but maybe because it's shorter. But Speechless smack bang in the middle just felt odd

warhol killah 8,674
Joanne is probably my 4th favorite (3rd before Chromatica) album from Gaga because of how it really helped me healed as a person, but in comparison to ARTPOP (which for me were the only options for this question), I chose Joanne. ARTPOP felt like it had a story which for me in terms of concept it kinda' adds to the cohesiveness. Sonically, the dance beats of the album had a variety in genre. The only song there that wasn't a dance song was Dope, which kinda' fits with the tracklist since before that was Mary Jane Holland so it was a nice transition from the 12 tracks of dancing, then it gets upbeat again with Gypsy. On the other hand, Joanne, for me was more of a compilation of what Gaga can do as an artist: different genres, but it doesn't really transition from one to another, and the placements of the ballads (Million Reasons, Joanne, Angel Down) are kinda' scattered and put in between upbeat songs. If I were to rearrange the tracklist to make it a smoother flow it would probably be like: Spoiler 1 Diamond Heart 2 Perfect Illusion 3 John Wayne 4 Dancin' In Circles 5 A-YO 5 Sinner's Prayer 6 Joanne 7 Million Reasons 8 Hey Girl (feat. Florence Welch) 9 Just Another Day 10 Come To Mama 11 Angel Down DELUXE 12 Grigio Girls 13 Angel Down (Work Tape) All that being said, my opinion on how Joanne for me was her least cohesive album, didn't really change my opinion on how great the album is. warhol killer ✴ GAGA¹⁵
