Ariana Grande came strong to the game when streaming era was getting big.
Gaga came before that. But whatever you say.

You should stop making excuses every time Gaga underperforms. Yes, she debuted in the digital era. But somehow, she still has a 1 billion streams song, two 400M+ solo songs. Let’s not pretend we didn’t expect Chromatica to pull better streaming numbers.

Yeah that's very true but let's not pretend Gaga is still having streaming issues in 2020. She proved with ASIB and the launch of Chromatica that she's a big value there.

Her biggest issue right now is her lack of personal involvement leading to a lack of longevity in streaming and sales.

Well, following that rule, all of the artists that are very successful on streaming didn’t promote a single time. So why Gaga would need to promote if she’s a “big” artist already on streaming? The fact that she had a hit album and single doesn’t mean automatically someone is already established in streaming. Gaga has shown POTENTIAL on streaming, hence the big numbers on Chromatica’s first day streams, but let’s not pretend she is a streaming artist because she isn’t. And the numbers are proving it. Currently, the album is not doing good on the streaming landscape.

And I was called delusional for saying it would drop out of the Top 20 next week.

"But it's stable on iTunes"
"But it's stable on radio"

Doesn't change the fact that it was close to being out of the Top 40 in streaming songs this week already and definitely will be out of the Top 50 on streaming songs next week with the Juice WRLD album bomb. It already left the On-Demand streaming songs last week. And IF the Juice WRLD songs fall the week after, ROM will still struggle to ever return to the Top 20 again.

Our only hope is good call outs and sticking around in the Mid 20's like Break My Heart for a few weeks.

I get your point that Gaga has streaming issues and of course if she would promote her music it would be better. She is doing nothing but I don’t blame her. She doesn’t have to do it.
I remember when everyone was shocked that Chromatica outdone every expectation with streaming and sales first days. Now everyone has a higher standard and think she underperfoms. Maybe I am too optimistic but her streaming power is still an improvment from Joanne era.

Btw, sorry If my English is bad but it is not my native language.

I agree 100% that this is a case.

Bloody Matt

I don’t think the main issue is Gaga being a streaming artist or not. Whenever she releases something the streaming public likes they stream it... It’s just simple as that imo. At the same time I don’t think any other females from the same era as her (except for Rih) are pulling her numbers either. So obviously there are artists that are just very very big on streaming and comparing her to them may be a bit unfair to her, but I don’t think Gaga has big streaming issues anymore. SL’s debut was very good for example and I don’t think ROM is doing bad either. She has people’s interest and I think she’ll have it for quite a long time if she keeps building her legacy the way she’s been doing it for the last years. I think it all comes down to releasing something people like and that’s not as easy as it seems. Promo also plays quite a big role especially with a promo sensitive artist like Gaga (I fully respect Gaga’s decision to delay it in favour of BLM though) and I think we all can agree Chromatica would be doing better under normal circumstances.
So I kind of agree with everyone’s points made in the last pages even though they may seem a bit conflicting with each others :duck: I think they kind of complement each other actually.

Can someone please tell me how the tour dates are doing so far? I know it’s a bit of a shaky time rn with corona etc but I would like to know how they’re doing

Chromatica is just proving my point Lady Gaga is an artist that can't be managed as an artist that won't lift a finger while launching a new era, not that hard. Lady Gaga has always been counting on the big promo spots to keep her eras on track and getting longevity (like on ALL of her records). That's exactly what happened recently with Joanne or ASIB (or even CTC). A simple example : Million Reasons only happened because she got those promo spots. Shallow became a smash because she put her effort to make it an iconic song (you don't need to be everywhere, you just need to make smart moves).

ASIB and Chromatica's launch just proved us Gaga can be huge in streaming with a decent promo exposure but that she can't count on longevity if she disappears.

Genuine Guy 09

KIIS-FM LA have already dropped Rain On Me. Honestly, I'm not being negative but don't expect decent callouts.

Also I don't agree with blaming everything on BLM/Corona.  TV interviews and talk shows don't do anything these days either for an album in its 7th week. this is music for gays by a woman in her 30s, so yeah it was probably always gonna underperform past the initial release.

Unless there's a turnaround on radio for ROM it's a slow decline from here. The album will need something massive like Fortnite to create another boost, its hard for Gaga to sell non ballad music to the GP, but radio in America has been the most upsetting thing for ROM imo.

Stare at the Chartster in the mirror they talk to me too. #StreamFunTonight
