These complete blackouts she keeps having between releases, knowing how promo-sensitive she is when it comes to charting, are a bit hard for me to tolerate :koons: the frustation is up to the roof with this era lol

I wonder how much of the promo sensitivity is due to these long breaks, the fact that she only appears once in a while might make those appearences more impactful than they would be if she was pulling a dulla peep for instance. Maybe its strategic but Im probably reading too much into it.

Maybe a bit OT: but why is that Gaga has so little social media following? Ariana has like over 5x more Instagram followers

Many of Gaga’s peers have way more followers, but the thing is, they’re all bought, most of them. There’s a reason Gaga gets more likes than someone like Katy who has like 70M more followers.

Female artists like Ariana and Selena are both younger whose careers got big in 2010s(when social media actually got big) and are considered more "conventionally beautiful" by the straight men. Gaga had always been considered "that crazy girl who makes sexual dance music for the gays" until she started to strip everything down with Joanne/ASIB and people started to see more of her real self and her voice. That's why she's been improving on every possible digital metric since 2017. It's fine, who cares anyway about social media stats as long as people are streaming her music, buying her albums, watching her films and viewing her in high regard as the legend that she is?

Both of y’all brought up great points! Definitely agree with both!:kara:

I think all things considered its going well rn, lets see how much time this break takes. At least everytime she shows up its awesome (vma's, rom, 911). Cant wait for the Sour Candy collapse in this website.

Also, Gaga‘s feed doesn't help much. Other artists are out there doing whole shoots for Instagram and I wish Gaga would do that more often. The HAUS EDITORIALS were perfect, or even just HQ full body pics of her outfits like Beyoncé or Cardi B do. Instead Gaga‘s feed is usually a lot of selfies ans some promo pics. I think she needs to step up her game on Inst at least.

Honnestly I personally don't give her sh*t about her social media numbers, she's an artist not a person who wants to be #1 everywhere. I did love the Haus Editorials though, even though they were all shot with a potato

The latest interview about the making of the album makes me think album promo will be resuming soon again (let me be delulu, but also Grammys campaigning hello) :flower:

No; just no. Thinking that there is going to be any ongoing, consistent, "album promo" again for Chromatica beyond what we have gotten thus far (1 week of light promo surrounding the release of Stupid Love, Rain On Me/Chromatica, VMAs, and 911 MV) to try and ensure people show up to the tour if it is still held is simply unrealistic. To think any changes will have been a result of the Grammys, though, is... in the least insulting way possible, 'delulu.'

Why would Interscope pour additional $ into a 4-month old album when it 1. pulled the lead's Radio support ~2 wks before album release (which would've extended its residency on BB100, sales, etc.), 2. failed to do ANY promo to grab multiple weeks at #1 [BB200] after 1 of the biggest cross-platform debuts of '20, 3. failed to do ANY promo to keep ROM Top 10 (U.S.) / beyond ACR (U.K.), 4. pulled Radio support for ROM 2 wks before its 1st/only live performance (VMAs), 5. failed to leverage hype of a 3rd, post-album MV into a successful single (no Radio adds, no official iTunes / physical singles)?

Chromatica had a shot at AOTY, R/SOTY, BPVA, BPD/G noms given its commercial debut and successful singles (prereqs for a Pop album to be taken seriously). However, it needed a narrative that could be heard in a year that'll be dominated by acts related to the BLM movement; and, since mental health was very relevant to 2020, the industry could've likely supported noms in the GF for a Pop album so open about it. But, there's literally NO path to GF noms or a BPVA win at this point when it's selling less than Future Nostalgia, has less acclaim + sales than Folklore, less momentum than Fine Line.

TL;DR: The ROI for promo after 4 months / with the Grammys in mind is far, far less than what they would've gotten from simple moves to push SL, ROM, Chromatica, 911 in the weeks following huge debuts. If they can't be bothered to give the album's singles support on Pop Radio, why would they care if it gets a random nomination when it has 0% chance of a win outside BPD/G?

Ma'am, this is a Wendy's I—

Also, if you want to be pessimistic, fine. Your choice. I'd rather choose to be optimistic. I'll also choose to trust her own team over random fans on a pop forum who know nothing about handling the most critical aspects of a mega superstar's career. Thank you :awkney:

Literally said “There’s no path to GF noms”...umm like the path has already been created. ROM is on its way to 2x platinum, it’s a #1 hit and it’s highly favored to be nominated in ROTY and has a bet to be nominated in SOFY by MULTIPLE publications. Meanwhile Chromatica is already predicated to be nominated for AOTY.

So idk what that comment was but that path has already been created...so :ladyhaha:

Lady Gaga: US SPS

The Fame: 9.35M (Billboard) / 6M (RIAA)

The Fame Monster: 1.65M (Billboard) / 5M (RIAA)

Born This Way: 4M

ARTPOP: 1.5M

Cheek to Cheek: 800K

Joanne: 1.3M

A Star Is Born: 2.7M

Chromatica: 725K

The Fame/The Fame Monster units are weird because BB includes all SEA and TEA for both into The Fame (meaning The Fame Monster's units there are just from the pure sales of the The Fame Monster 8 track album) but the RIAA separates them into their respective album, so it just depends how you wanna look at it.

If some of y'all think that you can devise better and more effective promotional strategies, not having an inkling about whatever might be going behind the scenes, maneuvering all the biggest possible obstacles while being primarily responsible for shaping the career and maintaining the success of the world's biggest superstar, then go ahead and apply for management careers on Interscope's website or I'll do you one even better, confront Bobby on the streets, grab him by his collar and challenge him to step down from his position, join LG's promotional team and work there and supply your ideas to them instead of wasting your time writing long ass "could have, would have, should have" promotional strategy drafts on her biggest fan forum.

Go ahead. Do it.
