I don't think J n D was supposed to sound bad. I think the reason it's not well liked is because nobody wanted a Lady Gaga hip hop song with rappers on it. Sure, there are some I don't personally care for but they at least sound finished. J&D just didn't sound finished. There's something tiring about them now - they're not so exciting anymore. The J&D interlude scene at the artRAVE is probably her best ever interlude and light show tbh.
