True but what about DWUW, Starstruck, Sine From Above, and Hey Girl? That’s true, but I think it’s a little different with BLACKPINK because they’re one group as opposed to separate artists and they all share one verse as opposed to having different verses throughout the song. Plus JND is a rap song, so having multiple rap verses throughout is a little different than other singers sharing a verse. As for the other songs you mentioned, they’re unique and different from her signature style but they’re not so different that they don’t feel “Gaga.” JND is a rap song that could never work as a solo version, whereas the other features are unique and fresh but still sound like “Gaga” (in my personal opinion at least). That’s just my point of view, though! I’m sure everyone has a different opinion on this, and this isn’t even necessarily my feelings on the song, it’s just my general guess as to why people tend to not love it as much. But songs like TEA, Temple, Partynauseous, and Nothing On were Act 1 originally.

Or you don’t think much of it either but you just feel like people unnecessarily ”hate” JnD just because it is different genre than edm/pop? Free my mind, ARTPOP
Spyro 8,438
I will also add I don't buy people dismiss it for being Rap/Hip Hop. At least half of this fanbase loves Nicki Minaj/ Cardi B. Spyro the Dragon

Plus it’s based off of a sample of Sun Ra’s “Rocket Number Nine” so I think Venus is a campy, lighthearted take on that lyric (“rocket number nine take off to the planet Venus”) and expanding it into a whole song. Oh yeah, you’re right, I forgot that. I know people sometimes hate on the lyrics for Venus, but it all makes a lot more sense when you look at where her inspiration came from. Like Gaga says, people either take her too seriously or not seriously enough, and I think people take Venus a bit too seriously, it’s just meant to be fun! I mean JnD is definitely hip hop influenced, but the production still kinda lines up with everything else on the album imo. It’s ARTHOP if you will

I said it several times in this thread that I’m very versatile with music. R&B will always be my core go-to genre. I feel like its rude, ignorant, and small minded for fans to drag Jewels n Drugs and/or music in trap, rap, or hip hop.

Galvon 1,868
I like the vibe of the song and the production, but I only like it because it's Gaga. I think if it was someone else, I wouldn't care about this song at all.
